Veronica: Sometimes I have a lot of trouble concentrating on a person telling me something.. and I find myself thinking about how I really need to pay attention and make sure not to miss out only to realise that’s all I’m thinking about.. and i haven’t been paying attention in a long time.

But that’s me, Lucy on the other hand is normally pretty good at concentrating! She’s just getting a lot of little reminders today.

From what Paulo’s saying, it seems like he’s talking about his feelings about Daisy. And him calling Lucy a “bullshit detector” means he’s trying to get a proper read of his relationship with David and Daisy, so he’s not trying to hit on Lucy. He’s also not hitting on all the other cute girls in the hallway. So he’s being on the level… even if Lucy is dealing with some serious mental trauma, which he hasn’t noticed.
