Veronica: He sure eats awkward for breakfast.

Since we’re basically winding down, I want to propose a big question to you all - WHO ARE YOU? Like where are you from (Country, etc), what’s your age, what’s your story morning glory :D I’m getting like tons of new readers and I wouldn’t mind getting acquainted with you. So yeah, tell me about yourself! How did you find the comic? Are you an old-schooler that was there when Bittersweet was DA exclusive, or did you jump into this bandwagon because of a project wonderful ad? Which comic were you looking at? Are you a regular on Gaia, 4chan, or do you do your own thing?

This is all about you now, dawg!

SereneHeaven was badass enough to make a temporary BCB fan forum by the way so visit it and be merry!

We want to email you some comics!

Join the thousands of BCB fans who look forward to an email of cat drama every Monday morning, and we’ll send you a dozen “Ships Ahoy” comic strips, and one every week after that!

We’ll send a link to the comics you missed, straight away.

My name is Arnie. I am currently a Junior in high school and I stumbled upon Bittersweet on Tiny Kitten Teeth from an ad. I’ve always liked cats, so I thought I’d click and see what it was.

I sure got more than I bargained for!

Just noticed how Amaya is shown for “no comments yet”. Love it. I wish she showed up more often…

Anyways, does Tess just tell stuff like that to anyone? LOL.

Also, I stayed up just to see this update.

Oh man, the pressure. Veronica keeps working until 9pm and it’s on me to post the comics right after I get home from work. I guess I can’t be lazy like I was the other night - people are actually watching and waiting this time!

That’s the dating sim ad, right? I think that one was pretty good. I should get the ads we made and have Veronica post them on her DA, she had some cool ideas but I think the dating one is the best.

That’s Lucy alright, from apologetic to condescending on three seconds flat.

On the where I’m from and how I got here question, I live in Victoria, Australia and I followed a project wonderful ad two days ago, which I never normally do, so you are doing something right. I promptly ignored all my work and voraciously devoured the archives, which were a joy to read.

I now look forward to every update =D

Ha ha ha, Lucy is so back to normal, and I love it. She’s a wild card, that one. Not to mention, Paulo is eating awkward for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Maybe a small afternoon snack as well.

As for me: I’m 18 on Thursday. From New Mexico, and loving it. I’ve been following your comic since, like… ‘05/’06. So, a long time. dArt days. :] I love your comic so much, and honestly it’s the only one that’s really captured my attention and kept it. I guess that’s why I wanted to make that forum. PFFFT. Hi, first time commenting seeing as I just found this webcomic like, yesterday I suppose. Although, since I’m in Japan and technically 16 hours ahead, I guess I’ll be finding it some time today around 4am. Time travel and all that you know, can’t get it right. *Insert “Back to the Future” reference here*

Anyways, bad jokes aside, I stumbled upon this webcomic through an ad on Housepets and have found it really entertaining so far. Being an avid webcomic reader, I am glad to add this one to the already 40-something other webcomics I read.

Keep up the great work!

A friend of mine who thinks I’m a furry sent me a list of comics as a joke, actually, and this was on it (I have nothing against furries, but I don’t make my girlfriend where the ears and tail). Been reading for about… oh… 8 hours, maybe? Read all of it so far, like what’s happening.

I say no. I made an argument about this on the last comic. Ill repost that section here beouse the whole post was huge and noone wants to go and actualy read through it

I think that people should be a little more careful before shipping PauloxLucy so quickly. All Paolo is doing is being a supportive friend in another friend’s time of need. In essence, he is providing another shoulder. (gee, wonder where I heard that one before) We have already seen that he has feelings for both Daisy and Tess, and, seeing that he was unwilling to go too far with Tess because of Daisy, I dont think that it is fair to say that he would go near that far with Lucy. Lucy is going through a lot of trauma right now, and she is turning to another friend to help her through it. It should not be read into as much as I think many people are. Further more, I think that it will be some time before Lucy will truly be able to get over Mike, (assuming that she ever really does) and it will probably be even longer before she can bring herself to trust someone that much again. (if she ever really can) She has had enough trouble trusting people in the past, and, having just had her trust shattered by the boy that she has loved for years, it is going to take a ong time before she can peice herself back together.

I’m from the USA, New Jersey and right on the Shore (please, please, please don’t mention ‘Jersey Shore’. It really riles us natives up). I’m 21 (22 next month), in my last year of community college with hopes of a transfer to Indiana University to get accepted into the Kinsey Institute and leave at some point with a degree in Human Sexuality.

I found this comic about two days ago and caught up today! I can’t remember where from, though. Oh well, I’m just glad I found it. The art is interesting, the storyline is a tried and true (bestest friends in love, kinda, not, maybe thing) one, but the characters are well developed and distinct. I can’t confuse one for another and that deserves cookies!

I find your view on pre-teen/teenage relationships and sexual oh, I dunno, discovery? Awakening? Whichever, to be raw, real, maybe a little too impulsive at times, but that IS what teenagers can be about sometimes, isn’t it? lol That’s half the reason I love it!

I’d like to seen Sandy FINALLY make an apperance, sort of. What kind of teen goes away to Europe over the summer for business? Maybe a learning internship or something? Still, I’m just waiting to see what would come of it if she ever shows up.

Keep up the awesome work!

The name’s Vlad, some call me V. Born in the Soviet Union, my parents have moved to US for great work opportunity!

No, seriously. Anyway, I’m 19 (born in the death-throes of the USSR), go to community college, and regularly rail against California weather.

I started reading on Saturday or Sunday, and don’t remember how I came across the comic. It just appeared in my tabs.

I’m a physicist at heart (working to get that true on paper, as well), am good at math, and speak fluent English and Russian, broken German, a smattering of Latin and Spanish. I’ve also taken Karate for several years.

Comic time! Go Paulo! He’s all, “Stop! No awkward time!” I root for LucyxPaulo- but not necessarily as a couple. I just think Lucy needs to realize she can have friends. It doesn’t hurt to trust people- so long as you can beat them up.

I honestly can’t remember when i stumbled onto your comic, or why i even started to like it, since usually i HATE this setup, cats or not. (Though usually that’s only with fanfics taking characters out of their own stories and shoving them into real life high schools because they don’t know how to make a story any other way because they SUCK.) ….uh, anyway, i think it was around early ‘07, since i remember that you had several pages of chapter… *looks quickly* 42 up, but it took a while to update the whole thing. Not sure if the site was up then or not.

I can’t draw to save my life, so i write a few stories every now and again plus do a few things on youtube for kicks. That’s all you really need to know about what i try to do on the interwebz.

My name is Carmen and I’m from Tennessee. I’m a 17 year old girl and will be 18 in May; High school senior.
Started reading BCB around 3 or 4 years ago I think. Old DevArt days definitely. No idea how I found it!
I’m on deviantart(car-ma), I have more of photography stuff on there than I do non-photography art which is weird because photography is actually far from my main thing; I work in traditional mainly (tried digital for long time and it’s just not as satisfying to me) and usually it’s too big to scan and I haven’t had time for pictures.
Used to be on Gaia 24/7 almost 1 1/2 or 2 years ago; I loved Avatar competitions for like matching and colors and such, not cosplaying.
On 4chan some too, mostly lurking around /b/ but mainly /x/.
FACEBOOK HURHUR. Formspring recently.
Um I want to try get a M.D. or Ph.D. in Pathology, I’m a huge science nerd and diseases/viruses/bacteria fascinate me! It’s also mostly patient-contact free which is good because I’m super shy around new people.
I would do art major if the economy didn’t scare the hell out of me and I didn’t want house/food/cable/etc. I’m not money hungry, just terrified over security and such.

This is the only thing that’s “furry” or close to “furry” that I will ever, ever enjoy.
I lovelovelove MikexSandy and PauloxDaisy.

I’m whocares from no-onereallyville

I found this comic through an ad on some other comic my friend linked me to. I was planning on just reading it to pass some time and have a laugh but it really grew on me, so I kept up with it for a while then felt bad enough about my original impression on it that I wrote a dumb review on topwebcomics which no one should read.

I don’t really like 4chan/ I hate Gaia with a flaming passion/ I refuse to use deviantart for anything other then humor purposes (do you know just HOW many people have an Invader Zim fetish??)/ I don’t like anime/ I don’t like TV/ I am full of ****

I go to an art school/ I do artsy fartsy things teehee/ I read and write a lot/ I play bass and keyboard/ I listen to every kind of music you could possibly dream up (yes that includes country and rap **** you)/ I love the squirtle squad

fascinating yup

Hello I’m Karl,
I live in nebraska (yes, the middle of no where). I’m 20 years old and in college and master of pretty much every video game (no I’m not fat). I’ve read a lot of webcomic and I really like this one because I only like the ones that are well done and have good characters, most comics I’ve read have characters that have the personality of a wet dish cloth (no joke). You’ve done a good job and I hope this comic getsbetter. note: I’m also TcGIlegend on deviant art.

Oh, but I’ve gone out of order;
I’m an American in Georgia, and I believe I fell across your webpage through a Project Wonderful Ad from another webcomic— I haven’t been on either for some time, but Gaia and 4chan are familiar domains— suffice to say I (and I am sure many others here) are acquainted with the latter’s unsavoury attitude as of late so apologies ahead of time for any trouble you may have experienced from said mother’s-basement-dwellers.

You inspire me with your storyline and art.
Do continue!

I’m Kat. (durr) from the SER forums and I’m 21. I’m nothing really special as I am just a silly artist that barely draws arts anymore. I’ve actually have been vigorously keeping up with BCB ever since the DA days, and I’ve been watching you BEFORE ( I think I might have gotten my times mixed up, yay for remembrance) you started BCB. Always adored your artwork, Taeshi. I’m also the same dork that’s SilverblueMetalwolf on DA who commented on your Grandia I arts and we had a small conversation about the Grandia series. (I need Grandia I XD). I also remember doing a a MoogCast with you and Jolly.. (God that was horrible considering I ATTRIBUTED NOTHING to it). I also have you and Jolly added on skype but I never talk to you but I WOULD like to. I’m such a shy ffdweradf. Man I think I’m rambling. SHUTTING UP NOW. (stupid headache :D>)

Back to Paulo and Lucy, I think Lucy will start to make friends or start to trust people. I hope Mike and LUcy will become friends again and that Paulo will NOT start gonig after Lucy again.

Now out of the subject: I’ve been in Bejing, China for 8 years, went to the Philippines and stayed for 1 year, now in Huag Dao, Qing Dao, China.

Back to subject: Love this comic can’t wait for next update and I don’t see btw(by the way) anywhere.

Out of subject: Come on guys and gals, can’t we all use btw(by the way) because it is a cool word. My big bro made the word btw. Btw, I have no sisters and brothers, only one brother that is all.

oh that conehead disease, what a trouble.

Also i don’t hate you: why are you having such a fit? I definitely agree that I don’t want this place to become a chatroom, but the thing is I only asked one question and everyone’s really just answered/mentioned the comic/done both. I see no harm in that. It’s not like I’m gonna be asking much questions in future, I only asked about the forum last update because of the initial demand and now I’m just wondering about the readers. If all of a sudden people starting talking about something completely different or been all “hey how are you Kat!!” and it went on a mish-mash of readers talking amongst themselves about nothing, then I’d agree. But that didn’t happen except for last update?

so yeah, chillax man.

Last I’m a online gamer, RPG, First person shooter, action, you name it. I’m game~! So yeah…so many people that so friendly and kind. I hope this comic goes out strong and continues.

I’m new to the story and happen to come across it while reading one of the online comic…forgot the name of them…

Oo, so many people introducing themselves! :D
And of course the obligatory a/s/l… ^^;
Eh heh.

Now I feel weird not having done that, myself.

You know, I’ve begun to wonder why I like school-based comics so much. Maybe it’s ‘cause I was homeschooled all throughout most of my middle school and all of my high school years. I guess there’s just some curiosity involved. What it would have been like if I’d gone, and if it would have been nearly as fun as in the comics… Perhaps I’m just too much of an optimist.

Who am I kidding, I hated what public school classes I *did* attend, why would high school be any different?
Still, I bet it would’ve changed who I am, at least somewhat. (I know these college classes certainly did!)

Regardless, though, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for *good* school comics. When all is said and done, I’m glad I spent my as-long-as-I-can-remember reading comics, playing games, and watching TV! :D

@ Kris, i am like you i went 2 public through elementary and homeschooled in middle right now… iam about to graduate. but i have seen what the kids r like in the public and my lil bro goes to the middle school here soooo…

Let’s just say the kids there r really stupid in what they do and how much they know. I don’t mean to stereo-type but i am learning way more homeschooled then i did in public and probably way more mature then the kids in public… and that’s
saying alot since i am not THAAT mature.

Soooo just saying homeschooled is basicaly the same as public except without all the crap that those kids do which the think makes them cool.

Sooo just saying i don’t think you should even have a second thought about going to the public schools over being homeschooled. The late years of highschool and the rest of years in college would probably be fine because more people are mature.

Not that i think this comic is dumb for being public school. It is one of my favorite comics, but I feel it is sort of like a movie, in most cases, nothing like the stuff comic happens in real life (like in movies). But we still like to watch ;-)

I don't hate you March 18, 2010, 5:12 PM EST.

I don’t usually comment much, but… oh well, why not.

a/s/l eh? I tend to answer that with yes/depends/yes (got the idea from my sis, who answered it yes/no/yes) ;)

Really though, I’m a 27yo guy from Norway, who only started reading this comic recently (~last weekend I think), and now have it in my bookmarks (in my comics list - as if that multipage list needed more items - no idea how many are in there atm). I don’t recall where I came from when I first got here, but do recall seeing some ads several times before actually going.

As for morning glory… no. Mornings come waaay too early to be glorious… :P (I much prefer evenings…)

I’m a geek; my spare time is mostly spent programming and reading webcomics (and other stories), and I dabble in electronics now and then. I’ve been programming computers for about 3/4 of my life, and nowadays do it as a job as well.

I’m tempted to answer the post question (2+5=) with “25”.

I’ve been described as “weird” - which, to me, seems accurate. :)

To go off on a tangent… I see some of the comments being negative towards “furry” comics/stories/etc, and figured I’d provide a counterpoint - I’ve generally liked most of such that I’ve found, and what I haven’t was generally for other reasons.

One thing that it appears most people don’t realize is that “furry” is a very broad category - it includes everything from such things as Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse and a good bit of mainstream kids’ TV shows, to several types of adult material - and quite a lot in between.
In other words, not much to base an opinion on, without further details.

I think I faund you on DA because of my obsecion whit Sonic then saw the comic, liked it and like a few monds later you got the page! Some times I found miself reading my favorite chapters again and again!!

I learned to draw them OK and in the end Your comic changed the way I draw today! At first it was WAY TOO anime like now it’s more a mix of anime and cartoon, but all my friends like it and so do I!!! O.O

I’m 14 years old, like to draw, write and read a lot! My name is weird… So just call me Sofi or Vainilla like my friends… Learning my reall name is a dificult task but just for the fun of it! My Name is: Zelideth

This was the first actuall comic online I EVER read!! I came to love the characters over the years! ^^ Now I check every now and then and if there is just one page I get verry happy!

This comic makes me think of the fact that I’m growing up, and so are Mike, Lucy, Paulo, Daisy, David and all of the gang! So I like it a lot!! It’s like I think i’m going to cry when it ends!! So make good of it!! ^^

This is getting WAY too long! So

I live in Toronto, Canada (or a town just off) and I am in my final semester at Humber College studying art. I absolutely adore your comics, the expressions are so great and your story telling is much better than you give it credit for.

Also your stuff has made me cry at times so that’s worth something right? My tears? Hahaha.

Came here from an ad for your comic that I saw in Bear Nuts (which was ironic, ‘cause I found it from an ad in another web comic.) I find the story really, really good. I’ve been reading non-stop from the beginning to get up to speed. Keep ‘em comin. Maybe some day we can have LucyXMike. But it’ll take a good long while before we get there, huh…

Damn, so many people from around the world… WAIT WHAT-

They call me Sam, in a place called California. 14 years of age, and sometimes socially awkward. :D
Found your comic through a way many other people found this place, through “Housepets!”
Pretty much found it about a week ago or something… the ad seemed pretty interesting… maybe that’s what lured me in… (“Just ‘cause I’m carrying your books doesn’t mean I like you…” “Deck her in the face” *snicker*)
It’s good and bad to be a freshman in high school… (gotta deal with friends and tests and assignments GAH)
They call me a good artist because I document some parts of my life in short comics everyday and they say they’re pretty funny. The only disadvantage is that my scanner won’t work with my computer… and my Wacom tablet is collecting dust… GAH…
I got a Gaia and a dA, with Gaia being Sakamoto_Ibuki and dA being sammilo13 (don’t ask, I made dumb descisions when I was younger), while I also help run a [NOT-SO] busy forum called Dainam. (I’m only a mod, my friends’ the creator and admin)
That’s pretty much me in a nutshell. Keep up the awesome comic making! :D

I’m glad you didn’t. I really enjoy what you’ve done with this story, and how you’ve developed the characters into people (or animals?) that we can relate to.

I intend to see this story to the end, keep up the good work!!

Hello, I’m Steven, and I’m from Florida. I’m 18 and currently a senior in high school.
I came across this comic while reading Slightly Damned, I was a little apprehensive upon seeing the ad, but I can quite assuredly say that this has become one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite, comics. I read through the archive in about a week, although it would have been sooner if not for my OCD.
While on the topic of disorders though, I also have Asperger’s Syndrome, which, for those who don’t know generally means I take things a little too literally and I’m somewhat socially awkward.

Well, now that that’s out of the way I’d just like to say, keep up the good work Taeshi! The story is engrossing to the point of… err… addiction. ^_^; And out of all the other comics I’ve read, there isn’t one that even comes close to this.

Again, keep up the good work! Also, congratulations! It appears you’re now ranked 16th on TWC!

Hey, I’m Alex Thompson, age 15, in junior high, from Halifax, NS Canada. I realize I’m being super unsafe and personal but I think the situation permits, eh?

Well, my story is thusly, (get ready for a story! =D) I’m a red-head who has been, for most of his life, an outcast and the “wierdo”( to give you a good picture of this, from grade 7-8 I always wore my customary yellow glasses, which later on even got circular, and my headphones, not for listening though, no, that would be to normal, they were the kind you use to block out loud noises in a construction site) at first I was always trying to be funny and make people laugh, then got depressed, and now, in junior high, am STARING to fit in, though I don’t think I’ll ever really shake my Celtic roots (The name, according to some class mates, is ginger now) My life seems extremely messed up and unplanned, but I think that’s mostly okay. I have, because of my experiences I guess, become something of an empath, I hurt when others do and always go out of my way to make them feel good. Also I don’t often lie and never break promises and am WAY obsessive with patterns, lastly, don’t ever try to take my fantasy book from me, I’ll kill you *_*. I guess that’s my character sketch right there, so feel free to add me in all my weird glory, to your comic, but don’t feel obliged, I was just sayin’.

Now that that’s done, My thing is cat’s and Zelda(The games with Link trying to get the triforce), And if you should ever want to try and find me on some site try Catmant, cause that’s the name I’ve kept for myself (ie; deviant art is Alexcatmant, but that’s only cause I messed up). Also, for those wishing to find a good friend, dry humour, and a all-round bi-polar person, E-mail me at alexcatmant11@hotmail.com (don’t judge me, I made it young and was told it had to be long).

Whooooo, now I’m tired.
Alex, aka Catmant, but you knew that if you read my paragraph, didn’t you? ^^

P.S.@Dark_Daemon, we are so alike, except for you being Russian and all.

*EDIT* Also, My thing is seven, I see it everywhere, it is my birthdate (Jan, 7, 1995) And juts to add to my paranoia, the box beside name, said 5+2 for my humanity verification.

*EDIT AGAIN* Sorry for the double edit, but I forgot to mention where I found this comic, I saw it in an advertisement while reading house-pets, and at first ignored it cause it looked weird, but then checked it, and got very addicted, although very sad because I want there to be LucyxMike all the way.

I was already a reader of two “cat comics” as is (Catena Manor and Original Life) and I figured that it was worth a look. I’ve been reading for 4 days or so now and I’m a tremendous fan of both the characters and the portrayal of high school drama. I’m a recent HS graduate myself and this brings back some memories (of course not quite on the same level, but that’s why it’s a webcomic -_-“)

She cracks me up how she constantly calls Daisy “*****.”…and anyone who shows intrest in Mike, for that matter. It was only today I finished reading BCB up to its current point. (GAH! It kinda shows how much Paulo really cares for Lucy cause of the way he acts towards her. The whole pervert act is just him being himself, but when you think about it, he’s always been there to help someone out if they really need it. I think thats the true Paulo that people should learn to recognize. He also knows not to go too far or take advantage of Lucy because of the situation that she is in, which in my mind makes him a good friend.

Now that that’s out of the way, Lucy is very troubled about this situation and her insecurity just makes it harder for her. But her insecurity isn’t all the problem (partly, but not all). The real problem? Well how would you feel if the person you have been in love with for a long time and who always gave you mixed messeges like a tossed salad was still attached to someone he was with 4 years ago? And her insecurity about trusting anyone else just amplified the real issue at hand.

The reason why I say all this is because I kinda get where she’s coming from. And when you are able to connect to a character, you are truely able to understand their emotions. To feel what they are feeling. Which I think is a treasure that all good stories have.

If I could take one medium-sized room of people with me past any of the thousands of apocalypti that are apparently going to happen, I’d choose my family, Taeshi, SuitCase and more drawing media than I can carry. Saying Keep up the good work isn’t enough. i’m a 16 years old Male Thai from Thailand, South-East-Asia. have been following the comic for a little while. i got attracted because of the AD on the webs, and yes Bittersweet is very much enjoyable. the drawing styles are at a level to simple enough to make it fast yet was detailed enough to give enough feelings. there aren’t much else that i think there are for me to say at the moment. is keeping on reading!

I really like this comic, and I’m gonna follow this to the end :D

I almost gave up on it when Mike was being especially emo right before he got together with Sandy, but I seem to have made it through.

Not actually religiously, cause that’d be weird.
I got hooked because of I don’t know, it’s just enthralling.
Also this is one of the few webcomics that are both very high quality all around, AND update on time. Like on the dot. because robots. Because it’s backlogged, like I think you mention, which means that I get my fiiiiiix on time! Exactly on time.

I’m Adam, sophomore in high school in western Pennsylvania, in a little town about an hour’s drive from Pittsburgh. I found BCB through an ad on MS Paint Adventures. I spent a day and a half just power-reading through this comic from Simple Pleasures to Mischief Night, and I’m simply hooked. The characters are enthralling, distinct, and likeable. The drama is well interspersed with plenty of slapstick, innuendo, and other lovely humor, so it never gets stale. Reading this is quite the escape from my own life, which is “dull and wretched in comparison” (Cookies to anyone who names that reference). Now I’m up to four or five different series that I have to keep up with. Keep up the good work!

Now I begun reading ur comic two or three months ago. I’m now in the chapter called, Casting Call.
That’s a nice webcomic you made! (sometimes I can easily crack up a laugh after seeing each chapters you made ^^) I have been into comics and some other comics that could be the same as manga. Anyways you make this webcomic that best.

I’m a student at Texas A&M, Animal Science major, Class 2012 (A-A-A- WHOOP!). I’ve lived in Texas my entire life, but am proud of my Scots-German heritage (the name below is no-too-good German for “The White Knight,” my gamer name). I’m interested in veterinary science, history, politics, geekdom, heavy metal, and cartoons.

For nearly a year now, I’ve been discovering the wonders of Japanese anime and webcomics. My engineering friends got me addicted to Red v. Blue, XKCD, then El Goonish Shive and it exploded from there.

I found Bittersweet Candy Bowl from an ad on EGS about a month ago and have been hooked since. There wasn’t this much drama at the little school I went to, but I still find the characters relatable and fun. Actually, I find just about everything with the comic to be wonderful! A good blend of drama, comedy, silly, serious, truth, fiction, and “t3h awkward.”

Final thought… CATS!!!

I am Drew. I am seventeen, male. I am from New England, though I have been in Norway about five years now due to a move+divorce with my parents. I love computers, music, video games, anime, manga, webcomics, sometimes regular comics, books (fiction) and other such nerdy things. Going into my third year of vidregående (not sure what the English equivalent is) next year, that being the year before collage. I just found out about BCB by just seeing an ad on a webpage, can’t remember which one though. I have been reading like crazy this past week or so, having read the whole thing through the day I found the comic (I think that was a week ago now). I’ve had a lot of spare time recently so I decided to read this again. I made no comments or read much of the commentaries the first time through, reading them all now while posting my comments.

I really love BCB and have been almost non-stop with it lately. I like the humor a lot, though to be honest I prefer drama and character development more, not that I don’t like humor, it is very important too. A breather is needed every once in a while, though I just enjoy how it has been a lot of plot recently.

Well. That is me wrapped up nice a quick. It really has been fun sayin’ all this, and I really love BCB, it deserves much awards for its awesomeness.

My name is Lorenzo. I am 16, and can you guess my gender if I say it involves a *****? Anyway, I am from Arizona. I am a geeky kid, but not that full out always on his computer and reading manga or watching anime etc. I love just everything about webcomics; drawing them, writing them, reading them. I have literally stacks of books filled with comics I have made, only a small handful of them have actually seen the any real attention. I am that straight A+ that has the potential to be popular, but chooses not to. I mostly keep to himself outside of my friends. Don’t get me wrong, I am not anti-social, I am just not that trusting of people I don’t know.

I found this comic yesterday While browsing TBW list and was intrigued by BCB’s quite unique name. I was instantly hooked by the first 5 pages, and I simply could not stop reading. I think what really took my interest was Mike. I am a mike, I have had quite a similar life to his. I really enjoy a story or character that I can compare actual self to.

Well, that’s a very brief and general explanation of myself. I hope you continue to make this, for as long as you do I’ll keep reading. :)

Saludos a todos!! My name is Santiago. I’m from Bogotá, Colombia, I’m 22, and I spent the xmas of 2010 reading through the archives of Bittersweet Candy Bowl (let me tell you again: Best xmas ever!! XD).

I found about BCB when I was voting for Slightly Dammed (highly recommended!) at the Top WebComics page , and I saw an ad with a cute white female cat that said “All she wants this Christmas is an ad click”, and I was like “awwwwwwwwwww, here, have your $0.01 n.n”. So… despite my initial judgment about the comic based solely on the webpage layout (a rainbowish and sweety sweet layout with possible furryness… a potential candidate for the equestria daily Wiki)… I still decided to go to chapter one… and let me tell you; I don’t regret clicking that ad, because I am now totally hooked to this comic!!!

I’ve always liked a lot the “slice of life” kind stories, and this one takes the mayor prize!! It has a beautiful blend of comedy and “drama” that makes it a delightful read. Two things that this comic has that I’ve liked the most, and that I have not seen anywhere else are:

1. There are no “unhittable” characters… you know, those that are totally immune to violence and that never get touched for comic purposes, but that CAN and ALWAYS hit others for the sake of comedy. Hehe, even Lucy got her well deserved punch in the face :D

2. There’s no stupid censorship for trash talk and sexual terminology. To me, the free use of this lingo makes the comic feel more natural and real, and when used correctly, sexual comments can be so damn funny!! (Paulo: Sorry Mike, but Lucy has a ******, so she gets priority! XD roflolmaomg)

And talking about female body cavities, there is something I’d like to ask to the author: Mrs. Taeshi: How in the world did Yashi learned so much about sexuality, but… (how to say that… ) but from such a wrong and raunchy angle?! I think Lucy should be more careful about what her pets watch on TV… or on the Internet for that matter ¬¬

SO, thank you guys for reading this comment, and Taeshi: Your drawing style is simply beautiful. Stop pondering so much about every little mistake you make in your art, and just concentrate on keep improving what you already do like a master n.n

Greetings, you can just call me Jr. (Initials are JR) if you don’t want to call me by my username. My age is classified but I am a resident of the United States. Sometimes I get bored so I look around random sites. Google helps. When I got some random results for typing up webcomics BCB seemed to advertise a different type of concept than the ones I usually read. So, I decided to try the site out. I don’t have a particular site but I just lurk through Newgrounds, 4chan, and YouTube. Of course I never cared to sign up for them. I started reading the comic about 3 days ago. Imo, your starting animations were sloppy and the handwriting was a bit hard to read, but you definitely showed improvement. Some of the comedic elements you have are a bit cliche or not really new. That’s one of the main things about it. The drama isn’t too unique, but it isn’t too bland. I suppose you could say it’s like the Degrassi with animals. Except it’s not utterly painful to sit through.

Part ONE:

I’m Adam, I am Canadian, I turn 16 years old next month, my eyes are an olive green, I have dirty blond hair, I was born on March 14 1995 in St. Johns, Newfoundland, moved to Calgary, Alberta when I was…1 or 2? then I moved to a small town called Fort McMurray, Alberta. I didn’t really have any friends in preschool, I’m a quiet guy, maybe part of the reason… I had a similar kindergarden experience as Lucy (though I wasn’t bitter about it) until I met one of my first friends, Samuel (who surprisingly acted exactly like Paulo XD no joke!). in grade 2 we met Theodor, he and Sam never really got along… I was like the glue of the friendship if I was sick one day and back the next, they’d be at each others throats when I got back, so I had to patch up the cracks. by grade 4 it got to the point where it became a “chore” and they became distant from each other, I still stayed friends with both of them, but separate (we never hung out together after that).

part TWO

all through this situation I was struggling with school, used to call myself a *******, idiot, etc., (I was just defiantly not a happy child) not just because of the friendship troubles but because around the end of grade 4 I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, so my parents made me change schools for a special education program ( pardon my French, but it wasn’t the kind full of mentally retarded kids, it was one for students who need to work at their own pace) for grades 5 and 6 ( Sam was the first of my friends to move, and the irony of it was that the one to tell me that he moved was Theo. the next to move was him (again no info or contact from him). then I moved to Sherwood Park, Alberta (so I guess it was inevitable)… anyway! (here’s where it gets good!) last two years of middle school… GREATEST TWO YEARS OF MY LIFE!!! GREATEST FRIENDS OF MY LIFE!!! (Jared, Jordan, Nick, David, those guys will be the greatest friends I will ever have in my life!) ooh… the harmless shenanigans we pulled X3! but, all good things must come to an end. my dad got a BETTER job back in the same town I moved away from, and NOW high school, possibly the most miserable year and a half I’ve ever had, everybody I use to know from my last two schools (before I moved) had changed DRASTICALLY! all the girls became skanks and all the guys became huge douches! I’m not happy about it but I’ve only got 2 years left and I’m off to collage!… then UNIVERSITY! *phew* that’s everything up till this point!

I gotta say the writing, character development, etc is really much better than I initially thought it would be, and I’m not disappointed yet!

I’m Dorian, age seventeen, from Pennsylvania. Found the comic through FurAffinity twice; I got through the first few pages, but my computer died and I forgot about it. Found it again a few days ago, and have been reading it obsessively since.

Well done, on everything. It’s been awesome watching your art slowly improve, and the characters are all likable and believable. I enjoy it, and I frankly hope it doesn’t end.

I was like.. Talking cats? Ok, I’ll look. Soooooo now it’s a few days later and I’m up to here.

Way to distract me from my college work, btw, I enjoyed every bit. And plan to continue doing so. Though I’m a little afraid of catching up, since I saw the dates on your posts…. I don’t wanna wait 6 months for stuff! *BAAAAAWWWS like Lucy*

I’m not saying my name, where I live, how old I am, etc. Personal information like that is a no-no.

I am a boy, though. A heterosexual male. I love music and hope to maybe become a musician at some point, or a writer. I used to want to make video games, but then I learned how complicated it all was…

I love web-comics. Manga is pretty cool. Anime is awesome, if done right. I’m a sucker for romance and dramas, as long as they are compelling and whatnot (BCB is DEFINITELY compelling). That’s funny, because I love comedies more than anything, lol.

I got into Bittersweet Candy Bowl because of VG Cats, actually. It started only about two weeks ago.

I’m a regular on Deviant Art (account name NintendoSegaSonyGuy), because I write and read VGC fanfiction. A guy recognized my name from Youtube, as I also have Youtube account with the same username. His username was “darkwolf328”. He complimented me on my fanfiction skills, but he also asked me if I had ever heard of BCB. I said no. He gave me a link. It took me a couple of days to find time to check the site out via the link, but once I did, I feel in love with it. Over the past week or so, I’ve been reading it whenever I can. Like right now. :)

SO, there’s everything you need to know about me. I’m a huge fan of your stuff.

This past chapter was my absolute favorite, because it was LucyXPaulo finally realized. I’m disappointed that they are not officially together just yet, but I hope they will be at the end. Or at least some time over the course of the comic. :)

Ah, the author is calling for a headcount?

I’m Chris, 21 male from Georgia. I discovered BCB from a banner ad on awkwardzombie.com. I’m not affiliated with any mainstream forums, except for the escapist magazine maybe.

I’m really enjoying this series, which is a bit surprising. The ad that led me here was a mocked up scene from a Visual Novel showing Lucy as a textbook Tsundere. It was very accurate for an ad, because the romance, the friendship, and of course the drama, are all of the same magnitude I would expect from a Visual Novel but not from a webcomic… with cats no less. Yeah, I’m going to stick this one out and keep reading. I feel like this story is helping me live out those high school scenes I never got to experience for myself.

So keep up the good work, author! This fan is in it to the end!

Male Canadain University Student, 19 & a 1/2, with the body of a young adult (meh), the mind of an old man (alzheimers ahoy!), and the heart of a child (… what?). Found BCB from an ad on.. what, Edmund finney’s Quest for the Meaning of Life? I was skipping through some comics I keep up with and openned this in a tab to look at when I was done, so I can’t recall. This was yesterday (tuesday May 24 (WOO MAY 2-4!)) and I’ve been readding pretty much non-stop since.

Loving the comic, I ain’t no critic / ain’t good at descriptions, so I’ll leave it at that.

A regular? not ever, I wander from place to place, comics and video reviews are the only thing on the internet that stay constant for me, skip from forum to forum like a Doug that is trying to find his flower girl.

But even though you say it’s all about “you” (us), seriously, it is all about you, we come here to see your marvelous work and you should know by now that, in short words -YOU BE AWESOME!-

Anyways, I found the comic a few months back through a project wonderful ad, on… something. no idea for the life of me what, but yeah. it was something. Used to frequent the ‘chan, but tbh, it just bores me nowadays, with all the mongs sat there hurling racial slurs at people just cause they know there isn’t any consequences. And frikkin’ lolcats. Those things annoy the hell outta me.
Also, it’s mid term holidays here now. woot. a week off from the hell that is GCSE exams, and then back to nothing but maths and latin. oh, jesus, why did I take latin?

This is a fantastic comic. The characters are likeable and have great personalities and the story is interesting and well written. I hope all the characters leave school happily when the story ends.

(lame double post is lame) i also tend to re-read BCB whenever i have free time. It’s such an amazing story, and i tend to catch things i hadn’t the first hundred times through. Another Path and much of anything dealing with Paulo after he started to mature are my favorite times. Mike’s become quite dissapointing, he used to be a cool character but he’s getting obsessive and rude.

My passport says 38, my g/f says 22. Displaced Illawarra boy living in Adelaide (that would be in South Australia for those not in the cool gang). Moved a lot; only state I haven’t lived in is the NT. I think of myself as an introverted articulate anachronism with extrovertic tendencies (say that 5 times fast while drunk, I dares ya!) - I can socialise online, but in the outside world I’m very reticent.
Not what you’d call a hipster webber; I’ve never actually typed 4chan into an addressbar, I dislike Twitter, and my musical tastes get me all kinds of strange looks… have been known to watch such sites as cakewrecks, or passive-aggressivenotes, huge fan of Suicide Girls, avoid deviantart because I’d be lost in there - FOREVER.
Came across this as a ProjectWonderful ad on Questionable Content - it, Strays, and now this are the only webcomics I read regularly.
BSCB-wise - remembering this is as far as I’m up to! - I’m all for PauloxLucy; maybe because I see a lot of myself in him (the confident exterior overlaying a minefield of angst and insecurity thing, ohh yeah)
Another tangent - the thing I love most about comics like this is watching an artist’s talent grow over time; your work is progressing beautifully, and the storyline is pretty damn good.
Final thought - you know when a comic’s made an impact when you go into your usual IRC chatroom and suddenly start envisioning conversations being played out by anthropomorphic cats and dogs…

I’m currently living in Seattle, though I’m an Aussie boy at heart, grown up in beautiful Sydney.
I found this wonderfully dramatic, humorous, well made comic over ads from a site called “Housepets!” which is a comic similiar to this one, but the animals are pets!
Anyways…. I love these comics! Beautiful things are being made, and the more I read the more immersed I feel into this amazing world, full of the amazing characters you’ve created! Keep ‘em comin’!

Only real men who aren’t awkward cry without remorse! XD
My name’s Leo, and I’m 15 years old and am a sophomore. Currently in San Antonio, Texas. I was born in Chicago, Illinois. My dad stayed behind while I live with my mother here. I see him during summer, usually. I found this comic because I saw an ad for it on mspaintadventures. I was really intrigued by the art and to my pleasant surprise, the characters and story for BCB was really well done. The creator and editor seem like awesome people too, so even more to like about this awesome series XD I am not a regular on Gaia or 4Chan because I’m lame. Maybe sometime I will be, though. As for right now, YouTube, Tumblr and DeviantArt have been my internet residing spots. I’ve gotten my cousin into this series and piqued the interest of some of my friends about it, so yay! Enough fans and the BCB movie’ll come out in no time ;w; But yeah, gamer, a kinda musician, a kinda writer, and hopefully soon a kinda chef or kinda artist. It’s been fun reading this series and I look forward to continue to do so throughout my schoolyear, and hopefully even longer than that. Merry Christmas to all reading this today, by the way. Especially to Souppy and Vero, who keep on staying busy with the series. So yeah, instead of kissing more butt, I’ll end it off here. Thanks for reading, to those who were interested XD

As of this writing, I’m 28 years old (or old enough that I have to stop and think what my age is) from Virginia. I’m something of a webcomic junkie. I don’t know how many I’m currently reading exactly, but I know it’s over two dozen. I came here a couple years back, probably from an ad from another webcomic. I started from the beginning, but stopped right after what is currently chapter 37 and wandered away for a couple years. I came back to the comic just the other week, and am working my way back, starting from the 30s onward (and occasionally jumping back to read a really early chapter).

Love this comic, characters are delightful and..Alive, they have emotions, feelings and their own personalities, they have joy’s and they have problems just like everyone else, they’re relateable and sometimes you just wanna give them all a big hug., It’s definitely given me some laughs and other emotional stuff’s.

As for where I came from, it was a long long time ago in the United States….the pineapple kingdom was being attacked by the cabbage arm-NO…No…..wrong story…no one must ever know that one. So aside from that bit of randomness I am 19, graduated highschool, born in the U.S. and saw an ad for this comic on a HiveWorks comic Zombie Roomie, I started reading BCB sometime around 11:00 pm on Thursday march seventh…which is yesterday for me..and just kept reading nonstop through the night all the way to now..Mind you I started from the first strip, I like story. and randomness, prologues..Don’t judge me …….No sleep…just webcomics and my music….best all nighter ever.

I’m a furry named Mylo. I have an Instagram and that’s how I found BCB. I love Bittersweet so far, there aren’t any words to describe how I feel about it. It’s a powerful comic. So.. Yes.

I’m Alex, in my first week of school at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, U.S. Got brought here by a random project wonderful ad that showed me here from Homestuck. I think it said “ANGST ANGST ANGST ANG-” or something along those lines.

I’m 18 years old and this comic is really neato. Like, for rizzles. It’s pretty coolio for realio. I can’t wait to read more stuff and see what happens to all these characters of whom I hardly know the names! Woo!

I can already tell you I’m really late to this party, but I’m a 17-going-on-18 year old gay furry boy in the U.S. and I found this lovely little comic through mspaintadventures.com’s little sidebar ads, specifically an incredibly entertaining one in SBAHJ style, which might be that “project wonderful” thing you mentioned, but I don’t know. Anyway yeah, just felt like sharing that ‘cause I love this comic so much and am currently COMPLETELY OBSESSED with it. So um… yeah. <3

Well, I’ve been binge-reading your comic for the past few days, so I guess I’ll answer your questions. I doubt you’ll see this, but oh well :b

I’m a 17 year old guy from Colorado. I found the comic a few days ago through a Project Wonderful ad on Housepets!, which is interesting since the ad had no text on it. I have no idea why I clicked on it, but I’m very glad I did! I don’t know what Gaia is, and I stay as far away from 4chan as humanly possible.

Your comic is amazing. I think I’m going to reread it when I get caught up just to go through the story again! It’s been a wild ride so far! ^_^
