Kinda notable that Rachel brings up that first date like it was something positive and fun, I guess that’s nice? Jessica would never want to talk about her date with Paulo again, Rachel on the other hand genuinely had fun and was being completely indulgent (The revenge on Tess helped too)

I honestly feel for Rachel. It’s obvious Paulo is growing on her more and more with each passing moment. Rachel is trying so damn hard to not fall for him. We know from “Take Heart” that she wants a family of her own, someday. Outside of adoption, that’s a future she can’t get from Paulo. Plus, she knows Paulo’s feelings for Lucy. Rachel knows the implausibility of it all… and yet she can’t help but like Paulo.

Paulo’s been rather tough to read this chapter. He’s been rushing through almost a feverish desire to grow up, with responsibilities, a job, driving, the works. And through it all, we arrive back at the same parking lot where Rachel and Paulo’s relationship really took hold.

But… I’ve just got a bad feeling about this. I know people are speculating more Paulo hanky panky, but I honestly don’t see that…not this go around. I feel that Paulo in this chapter is going to either noticeably act differently towards Rachel - less affectionate, or with perhaps a reluctant acquiescence to her presence. Not to say that he’s going to come across as cold… just more serious. He’s been trying to work towards responsibility and independence. Would it honestly be that much greater of a stretch to say that perhaps he might take his own feelings more seriously as well?
