Author Commentary

I’ve been trying not to mention every mistake when it came to the lines of the panels coming out (I’ve seen them all throughout this comic, but I haven’t pointed them out), but GOODNESS this page takes the cake for that. The third vertical panel gets a stray line and the third horizontal panel gets a weird squiggle on it. This comic is still considered one of the best of this whole series.. but yeah. Wow at the sloppyness. Lucy also gets a weird dot on the “was” on panel five.

Speaking of Lucy, poor girl. She was left to go and wait for Mike in the worst place possible, huh? It’s a showing of her phobia and Lucy’s ability to “put herself to sleep” from the fear of being awake and consciously near water. Also although I really love how Mike’s expression looks on the final panel, his arm is a totally different story. *Slapped*

it’s too bad. Yes Mike forgot about Lucy, but he isn’t the type of guy to not care about a girl’s feelings. He cared about how his secret admirers felt and knew how to react to them. When every it has to do with sandy he gets so caught up in it that he loses sight of other people’s feelings. It’s kinda sad, since he didn’t mean to hurt her.

Damn it, no Sandy!

Well, looks like Mike has to settle for his second best. You know, that’s really depressing. If Mike goes for Lucy, he’ll always know that she was never as good as Sandy. She’ll be his second choice. That’ really kind of ****** to her, don’t you think? Mike shouldn’t go for her until he’s resolved with Sandy.

Crossing my fingers…I hope Sandy appears somewhere.
