When you are in love, you don’t see other things around you. Sure, Mike ignored Lucy for all those years, but what did she expect? Things just happen. Mike wanted to devote his time and energy to the girl he truly loved. Simple as that.
Still…poor Lucy…
I just feel more sympathetic for Mike and Sandy, that’s all.

OOOOOOOH Second read-through and now I get the symbolism with his Scarf.. I guess it being a second read-through, and realizing why he got the scarf (and its particular colour) I can see its symbolism haha, from him loosing it earlier in the chapter (but not chasing it) and now this…. Although its a little sad in a way… If people don’t realize the symbolism then I may edit this with what I think is the answer. (Just ask if you don’t get it. I’ll check this page again a few times just in case someone does)
EDITS - Simple spelling corrections. Its 11PM here in Melbourne (Aus) so I’m a little too tired to write it with proper grammar.

I’m having mixed feelings gah DD:
Mike and Sandy are lost sweethearts that totally still love each other which is always sad and sweet but then again there’s always Lucy and Mike struggling with their feelings for each other.
Mike is in kind of a s**thole all the time, I guess.
And Lucy has to deal with it. We all know she loves Mike, but what is she gonna do?..
So I guess they’re both in s**tholes. Awh.

OK, now this was a pretty sad ending. But overall this is not my favourite chapter. Horray for character development tho

A saddening end to a particularly saddening arc. Hey, there is a little ray of hope with the bonsai tree, but it’s still quite unfortunate how things end up, huh? On a more lighthearted note, I actually have a “LOL SONIC POSTER” like the one in panel one.. it was done by Souppy in regards to an oekaki I did long ago that had a stick figure Sonic in the background saying “Yet another Sonic poster”.. Mike holds a similar version of it in his room.
The last panel is meant to be a close-up of the bonsai tree.. Sandy actually has little custom-made figurines of herself and Mike hanging out under the tree. Enjoy your symbolism. And that’s the end of that chapter! Tune in for High School!
