Bittersweet Candy Bowl

*The prom is in full swing. Students in fancy dress walk into the venue as balloons and confetti drift by.*

*Paulo and Tess arrive in a limousine. Both look thrilled. Paulo holds the door for Tess as she exits the car.*
Paulo and Tess: !

*Paulo clasps his hands in front of his mouth, tears welling in his eyes. He looks awestruck. Sparkles appear around his head.*
Paulo: OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD
*Tess hides a smile behind her hand. She looks at Paulo affectionately.*
Tess: You’re so cuuute!

*A bearded man wearing a backwards baseball cap and holding a camera approaches Paulo and Tess. He’s staring at Tess and smiling.*
Weird cameraman: Mind if I take yer picture?
*Paulo and Tess look surprised. Paulo straightens his tie.*

*Paulo leans close to Tess, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and posing confidently. Tess looks startled as Paulo pulls her close. She smiles nervously.*
Paulo: Hell YES~!
*The weird cameraman hunches over his camera.*
Weird cameraman: Okay, stand still..

*The weird cameraman zooms in on Tess, focusing on her breasts. Tess blushes as she realizes where the camera is pointing. The weird cameraman takes the picture with a loud shutter click.*

*The weird cameraman walks away smiling. Tess glares at him, furious. Paulo looks expectantly at the weird cameraman.*
Paulo: So are these for the yearbook?

*Paulo keeps smiling, waiting for an answer. The weird cameraman doesn’t return. Tess maintains her furious expression.*
Paulo: …

*Tess snarls, enraged.*
Tess: He aimed it at my CHEST!!
*Paulo jumps, startled. He looks wide-eyed at Tess.*
Paulo: What?!

*Another cameraman wearing glasses and a friendly smile approaches Paulo and Tess. His camera hangs around his neck on a professional strap.*
[An arrow, pointed to the cameraman: The real guy]
Cameraman: Hey, would you like me to get your picture?
*Tess glares viciously.*

Tess: LIKE HELL PEDOPHILE!!
*Tess growls, teeth bared, and kicks the cameraman in the face, knocking his glasses off and snapping his head back. Blood spurts from his nose. Paulo looks on, scowling.*
Paulo: Those are mine to ogle!

*Justin and Instructor Moosesha from Parappa the Rapper 2 stand nearby and watch Tess beat up the cameraman. Justin clutches his camera, scared.*
Justin: I guess I shouldn’t offer to take a picture..
*Instructor Moosesha puts her hands on her hips and frowns.*
Instructor Moosesha: So you wanna just forget it?
*Tess yells angrily as she continues to beat up the cameraman off screen.*
Tess: Take that!
Cameraman: Oww!

[Caption: After all that]
*Paulo and Tess walk through the crowd and toward the venue door. Paulo frowns, gazing at Tess apologetically.*
Paulo: I’m sorry I didn’t stop him, Tess..
*Tess smiles, tapping her fingers together in front of her.*
Tess: You didn’t know, it’s okay.

*Tess slides her arm through Paulo’s, standing close. Hearts float above her head. Signs reading “Welcome” and “Class of ’08” are posted on the wall ahead of them. A crowd of students are already inside. A random student follows behind Paulo and Tess.*
Tess: It’s not going to ruin a wonderful night together.
Paulo: Okay~

*Tess nuzzles against Paulo, smiling sweetly.*
Tess: Thank you for coming.
*Paulo smiles happily with one eye closed.*
Paulo: It was nothing.

*Paulo and Tess pause in the doorway. Tess holds Paulo’s arm gently. The room is dimly lit, and music thumps through the air. Random students sit and chat at the elegantly draped tables.*

*Paulo and Tess look around. Tess excitedly clasps her hands in front of her and checks out the party. In the distance, a DJ (PJ Berri, from Parappa the Rapper 2) spins music above the dance floor while random students dance enthusiastically. Paulo stands with his mouth open in surprise.*
Paulo: Oh wow.

*Paulo clutches Tess’ shoulder and shakes her, grinning in excitement. Tess glances at him, startled by his enthusiasm.*
