*Paulo and Tess kiss. They stand against a backdrop of the strobing lights of the dance floor and the faceless couples surrounding them. Paulo has one hand on Tess’ waist and the other cradles her cheek. Tess’ hand is on Paulo’s shoulder, gripping his suit jacket.*

*Paulo and Tess pull apart, blushing. Paulo still has a hand on her cheek.*

*Tess and Paulo share a moment, gazing longingly into each other’s eyes while trying not to cry.*

*Tess looks into Paulo’s eyes, tears welling up again.*

*Tess throws herself into Paulo’s arms, hugging him tightly. She wraps her arms around him and lays her head on his shoulder, squeezing her eyes shut.*

*Tess sobs into Paulo’s shoulder.*

*Paulo closes his eyes and weeps silently.*

[The scene transitions to Paulo and Tess becoming one of the many silhouetted figures on the dance floor. The party goes on around them, every couple but them dancing under the strobing lights while Paulo and Tess cling to each other.]

[The scene zooms out further, with only the small silhouette of Tess and Paulo visible, until, in a final panel, it fades to black.]
