*Daisy stands among the trees. She watches Augustus’ dark figure disappear into the distance.*
*Daisy gazes tiredly after him.*
Daisy: Guess that’s it..
*Daisy hears a sound behind her. She glances backward, anxiously.*
*Daisy sees Abbey on his hands and knees in the grass. He’s shaking.*
Abbey: No.. Nonono..
*Abbey stares at the ground, tears streaming down his cheeks. He continues to tremble.*
Abbey: Molly.. Mother.. I’m sorry, I’m so.. I’m not like this, I’m not..
*Daisy gazes sadly at Abbey and approaches him with her hand held out.*
Daisy: Abbey..
*Abbey remains on his hands and knees.*
Abbey: I’m not.. I’m not.. Why am I.. Why can’t I control myself..
*Daisy comes close to Abbey.*
Daisy: …
*Abbey closes his eyes, sobbing.*
Abbey: She wouldn’t hate me, right?! She can’t, I didn’t mean to..
*Daisy cries out in anguish.*
Daisy: Abbey!
*Daisy throws herself at Abbey and hugs him tight. Abbey stops shaking, startled by her embrace. His arms hang limply in front of him.*
Abbey: !
*Abbey stares in disbelief as Daisy speaks.*
Daisy: Thank you, Abbey.. Thank you so much..
*Daisy hugs Abbey, smiling kindly.*
Daisy: All this time.. you were there looking out for me..
*Abbey stares into the distance, tears in his eyes and arms still flopped down. Daisy clings to him.*
Daisy: I’m sorry it took so long for me to notice what you’ve done for me.. Even when it hurt..
*Abbey closes his eyes and cries a little more as Daisy holds him.*
Daisy: Please, let me help you for once..
*Abbey wraps his arms around Daisy’s waist and cries into Daisy’s shoulder.*
*Daisy pulls back, peering into Abbey’s eyes. He looks at her, tearily.*
Abbey and Daisy: …
*Daisy holds Abbey’s hand in her own and gazes at him softly.*
Daisy: Abbey.. would you tell me..
*Abbey looks away, uncertain.*
Abbey: …
Daisy: What happened to you..? .. What happened to your mom..?
