*Daisy walks down the school hallway alone as the bell rings.*

*Lucy catches up to Daisy. They walk the crowded hallway together.*
Lucy: You planning anything after school?
*Daisy smiles wearily at Lucy.*
Daisy: Nah..

*Lucy looks down with a worried expression.*
Lucy: .. Listen. Daisy..

Lucy: You have to remember that you can’t expect other people to help you feel better about yourself.
*Daisy is stunned.*
Daisy: ..?

*Lucy looks at Daisy, serious.*
Lucy: It’s not that easy. They can be there one day and gone the next, and then it feels so much worse.

*Lucy glances over her shoulder at Daisy with a look of compassion as she walks away.*
Lucy: Be really careful with who you trust.
*Daisy is dumbstruck.*
Daisy: …

Lucy: You can always talk to me if you need to. And just.. feel better tomorrow, okay?
*Lucy waves goodbye to Daisy.*

*Daisy smiles gently.*
Daisy: Thank you.. It does mean a lot..

*Daisy’s smile fades as she stands alone in the packed hallway.*
Daisy: …

*Daisy walks away.*
Daisy (thinking): Maybe she’s right.. But for her, Mikie’s the person she got close to..

*Daisy, blushing and angrily pouting, moves through the crowd, her head down.*
Daisy (thinking): I bet it’s way easier when you’re that pretty.. Must be easy to push everyone away when all people do is flirt with you.

*Daisy stops and looks up.*
Daisy (thinking): I just want a little bit of that. Is that really so bad?

*Augustus looks at Daisy, surprised.*

Augustus: So you did show up! The way things were going, I was expecting one of your friends would talk you out of it.
*Daisy blushes, embarrassed.*

*Daisy approaches Augustus, both are in silhouette.*

*Augustus faces Daisy. She looks up at him. They blush.*
Daisy: I don’t care what they say.. I think you’ve been really nice to me!

*Augustus smiles happily.*
Augustus: …

*Augustus takes Daisy’s hand.*
Augustus: Well, Daisy, you made the right decision.
