*The door slams behind David and his mom as they walk inside. David’s mom puts her hand on David’s back. He is visibly deflated.*
David’s mom: We’re home now, honey..
David: …

*David looks at his mom, tears welling up in his eyes.*
David: I really didn’t mean to kidnap that boy, Mommy..
David’s mom: I know. You just wanted to see your little girlfriend, like always..

*David throws his fists up and wails.*
David: I threw him back when they asked for him, wasn’t that enough?!
David’s mom: You need to say you’re sorry when we visit him in the hospital, okay?

*David turns away, pouting.*
David: Okay..
David’s mom: After the restraining order expires. Oh Davie sweetie, don’t pout! I’ll make you that birthday dinner I promised!

*David smiles slightly as he looks up at his mom.*
David: Okay..
*The front doorbell rings.*
David’s mom: Could you get that?

*Lucy, Paulo and Mike stand at the entrance, looking at David with varying degrees of concern.*
Mike: Hey!!
Paulo: David!!

*David slouches.*
David: Please, don’t try to cheer me up. My true love is gone.. Taken from me forever..

*Paulo and Mike shoot each other looks of confusion.*
Paulo and Mike: ?
*Lucy rubs her chin in thought.*
Lucy: …
Lucy: ..!

*Lucy looks at David.*
Lucy: That flower girl you’ve obsessed with? She transferred to that private school up the road. She’s not gone. You can keep stalking her.

*David stares into space.*
David: …

David: Y.. You mean..
*Paulo grins playfully.*
Paulo: That’s right..
*Mike and Lucy look on, each raising an eyebrow.*
Mike and Lucy: ?

*David and Paulo throw their fists up in the air, rejoicing.*
David and Paulo: ♥ SCHOOL UNIFORM!! ♥
*Mike and Lucy cringe.*
Mike and Lucy: Ugh.

David’s mom: Davie, are those your friends? Invite them over for dinner!
*David shouts directly at Mike, smiling.*
David: OKAY MIKE YOU ARE INVITED TO DINNER!!!!
*Mike covers his ear, grimacing.*
Mike: Owww, I heard her..

*David smiles blankly.*
David: Will Daisy and Abbey partake in the feast?
*Mike rubs his ear.*
Mike: They didn’t come with us. Haven’t seen much of them lately, honestly.

*David clasps his hands together and turns his gaze to the sky, grinning triumphantly.*
David: Must be the work of Final Fantasy Cat!
*Mike and Lucy look at him, unimpressed.*
Mike: Final what?
Lucy: David you almost went to jail today

*David leads the group to dinner, pointing up ahead.*
David: After dinner let’s scheme a way to foil his plans!
*Lucy looks up, exasperated.*
Lucy: Did you see you were on national television

*David turns back to Lucy, smiling brightly.*
David: Wow, my birthday’s THAT important?

*Mike facepalms. Lucy’s shoulders slump.*
Lucy: .. Yes, David. Happy birthday.
*David’s mom stands beside them, smiling and holding a platter of hot dogs. There’s a lit sparkler stuck into one of the hot dogs.*
David’s mom: Your friends are so nice!
