*Katie and Stacy stand in the hallway at school, chatting.*

*Lucy sits at her desk in class.*

*Paulo and Daisy appear next to Lucy, looking concerned.*
Paulo and Daisy: LUCY!!

Daisy: I was too scared to call you over the weekend..
Paulo: How’s the bird?

*Lucy smiles.*
Lucy: He left us last night..

*Paulo and Daisy’s faces drop in dismay. Lucy stares back at them, confused.*

*Lucy frowns and bangs her fist on the table.*
Lucy: He was all better by Sunday and LEFT MY HOUSE you idiots.
*Daisy looks teary and pathetic.*
Daisy: Oh..
*Paulo rubs the back of his head.*
Paulo: I knew that.

*Lucy recalls her time with the bird, holding a finger to her mouth.*
Lucy: He was pretty cool! Got along well with Chirpy and Blur..
*In her memory, Lucy waves to the bird, happily flapping around with Blur and Chirpy outside.*
Lucy: .. but he wanted to go, no matter how hard they tried to convince him.

*Lucy’s eyes widen.*
Lucy: Oh, right!

*Lucy reaches down to grab something. Paulo and Daisy look on with anticipation.*
Lucy: Almost forgot..

Author commentary

Veronica: Around the latter-half of this page, I was able to get my hands on an inkbrush and lord does the lineart look/feel SO GOOD after that. It was around panel 8 that I made the switch, what a big difference. So whippy and effortless, as opposed to drawing over the line multiple times with pens.
