Ahhhh, I see! The grudge between Abbey and Paulo is one-sided. Despite everything Paulo doesn’t bear constant negative feelings towards Abbey.

There’s a certain level of emotional maturity that Paulo’s earned for himself. He’s not perfect, but he’s willing to share his happiness. Abbey, who had a maturing experience of his own, expected Paulo to hold a grudge and was surprised when he didn’t, because even when we sympathize, we’re still bound by our own personal ways of thinking.

Is this it? Is this finally THE chapter where Abbey realizes that Paulo is actually not the trash cat of the group ?

I. LOVE. THEM. Jasmine being an environmentalist!!! Abbey, my boy, finally coming back into a sympathetic light…. Paulo finally showing him his good side, for real this time ;_; it’s a shame so much bad had to happen in order to get us to this point. But we’re finally here now. I can really, really, really relate to Abbey. Guilt and all.

Paulo might not be the best person at times, but he’s not the worst guy either. It’s nice to see him being so happy and cheerful after all the drama he had to slog through. Hopefully Mike gets his own chance really relax too. It’s not like any of them are bad people, just kids working through their flaws to become functioning members of society.

Abbey is the same. Growing up in the household he did would leave scars. Even if he tries he is still his fathers son. While he can grow past it, there are always instinctive actions that come. Personality is a mix of what we’re born with, and our situation. And while Abbey does get triggered, and needs to learn when to step back, he’s just like Paulo: still growing into an adult. They got time to grow.

They’re fortunate to have friends that can help them grow past this. Fortunate to be aware enough to recognize their faults. There are far too many kids who don’t have this social group, and just get tossed aside if they’re deemed too ‘broken’ to fit in.

It’s those kids that suffer the most, and it will take them a long time to ever recover from the damage being ignored causes.

TLDR: I’m happy Paulo is happy. And I’m happy that Abbey and Paulo have signs they could become good friends with their shared trauma and understanding now.

Communication is key to any relationship.

JUST WANNA SAY i think it’s fabulous that Abbey is realizing Paulo is actually trying to be nice like Daisy told him to, feeling guilty he assumed the worst etc etc, BUT ppl saying “omg Abbey realized he was wrong about Paulo and Paulo did nothing wrong”… Paulo spent up until the dodgeball chapter openly mocking Abbey at every chance he got, so!! just wanted to remind, Abbey was not a crazy person for disliking Paulo, he was legitimately bullied a lot, okay that’s all lmao

Exactly. I guess it makes sense for fans of Paulo (of which there are many) to think he never did anything to genuinely provoke Abbey though. And I don’t think a lot of people actually take verbal bullying seriously anymore, cuz it’s “just a joke.” It’s frustrating. lol I am glad he’s not super angry anymore though, it’ll be good for them both :)

If it helps any, I do agree that Paulo isn’t blameless, but I do note when Abbey was very upset to be wrong about Paulo being a bad person (which some of his assumptions were brought to light in time out)

Paulo shouldn’t have treated Abbey the way he did because all it did is strain their relationship for unnecessary (and at times completely uncalled for) jokes, but Abbey did have a less than favorable warped perception of who he was to other people outside of him.

I think a lot of people tend to forget at times because Paulo has had the most on screen growth tbh

Everyone’s talking about Abbey and Paulo but man I missed the cute bickering between Jasmine and Paulo

It’s great seeing Abbey slowly realize that Paulo really isn’t some sort of seedy guy with ulterior motives at every turn, but just genuinely some high school doofus that has both jerk traits and good qualities.

This slow shift of Abbey and Paulo no longer having beef and Abbey starting to not expect some sort of underlying motive to Paulo’s actions is nice. Also I love Jasmine and Paulo doing playful jabs at each other.

Paulo: It also has a Jesus Fish sticker on the bumper as well.

Jasmine: Now I’m really jealous!
