*Everyone gets out from under the table and sits at their seats. Tess covers her face with her hands, crying. Abbey comforts her with a dour expression.*
Abbey: You’re crying? Did he hurt you? I’m prepared to issue a deten--
*Paulo slams is hands on the table contemptuously.*
Paulo: Dude, I didn’t HURT her!

*Tess wipes her tears away, smiling.*
Tess: This.. you just really surprised me..

*Daisy stands up, smiling sweetly.*
Daisy: Why? You knew it was your birthday!
Tess: Yes, I just..

*Tess looks at her presents.*
Tess: I’m not used to having friends who would do this much for me.
*Mike smiles and scratches the back of his head.*
Mike: We’re not used to friends who’d fly us out for a vacation!

*Sue winks as she hands her gift to Tess.*
Sue: Just enjoy it, okay? Happy eighteenth.

*Tess begins to unwrap the gift.*

*David appears between Paulo and Daisy, slamming them apart and stunning them. He has a crazed expression.*
David: WHOA!!
*Tess and Mike are taken back.*

Veronica: oh what is it now

By the way, I actually wanted to draw Abbey raging and ready to punch David for pushing Daisy away, with Sue holding him back, but I felt that would look too convoluted and chose not to. But it is an annoying decision because Abbey is just not the type to let Daisy get pushed around like that.

Let’s just say those antics are happening off-screen!!!!!
