Veronica: Thanks for reading!! This was the result of a Kickstarter reward (idea being: Mike gets into an online game) so I hope you enjoyed it! It’s fully canonical, and to be honest I’ve always wanted to do a little story like this involving Stacy, so the Kickstarter reward came at the right time!

Interesting to see the cultural expectations forced upon a high school girl. She likes computer games, but in order to “fit in,” she has to pretend like that part of her doesn’t exist, instead conforming to some ditz stereotype.

I wonder what sort of reaction Stacy would get if she revealed her “secret”. I wish she could be that bold. Friends who would reject her because of that were probably not worth keeping to begin with. It might help her become her own person instead of simply kowtowing to cultural expectations.

I feel like we haven’t seen this side of Katie before- she hugs her friend affectionately and says “Oh, I wish you came along!”. Seems they really are good friends.

It’s nice to see a softer side to the comic’s resident stuck-up popular girl.

This chapter was filler, but Vero found a great place for Stacy to be shown in it, given the brief.. so it wasn’t all empty calories.

It isn’t fair to call any other chapters of the last year “filler”, though. There’s always a purpose to each little storyline, and if you’re Lucy-obsessed, that purpose will all be linked back to her in hindsight.
