Just blazed through the entire archives in a couple of days. I can honestly say this is OFFICIALLY one of my MOST FAVORITE, AWESOME WEBCOMICS EVER!!! I absolutely love it! I was hooked page one and I will follow until I die. Thank you for making such a great comic, I’ve never felt emotions as strongly reading a webcomic as I did when I read this one.

And its been a while since Rachel “bagged a virgin” .. umm.. is she keeping score?

Well, I’d like to say I saw this coming, but … I did. Kinda was in the camp hoping for something a little more “innocent” as a change up, but oh well. No real need to cover the Paulo’s and Rachel’s reactions since that’s already been discussed quite a bit. Note that the chapter is only about half done, so plenty of room for Paulo’s ego to get stomped on some more. Or, maybe, just maybe, he’d actually ask the girls what he could do to be better, but that seems unlikely.

Though, something that’s been bothering me about this particular arc is the fact that all of the kids are in high school. Now, I’m sure I’ll be accused of being prudish, but it wasn’t until Rachel’s comment in this page that I thought about the fact how sexually active many members of the non-middle school group have been. Well, I may be overstating it, but there’s Tess (one known partner), Jess and Rachel (several partners each). Granted, they’re a bit older than Paulo, but not much in the scheme of things. Perhaps this is a more accurate representation of high school than my own recollections, but to me, all these girls and boys seem awfully “precocious,” to put it mildly.

Anyway, I’m personally not thrilled with the direction this chapter has been going, although it is on-going so I cannot really make a good judgment until it is complete (and perhaps not even until several more chapters are complete). Still, honest feedback and all. For some reason I’ve felt that there has been a kind of air of innocence around the comic, though when I think harder I realize that there are a lot of dark spots, and, shall we say, more mature aspects. Again, time and Taeshi will tell, but perhaps the shift from the early part of the comic (middle school) into the later part (high school) is also bringing a shift in the general feel of things.

Not sure how to count the panels in this one, so in the “how was it?” panel, the look on Rachel’s face is pretty amusing. Not really sure what about it, though. Maybe Paulo just shouldn’t have asked. Also, she’s laughing and wagging her tail, which I guess is kind of cute for a dog-girl. Little details.

@Taeshi: Well, to copy an internet meme: Poor recollection is poor. Also forgot that Tess (and others) are fan characters. Thinking a bit more clearly(?) now, I think I confused “light-hearted” with “innocent” in my mind. So unless my memory is really going, I think the earlier strips were more comical in nature. Yashy being a good counter-point to my original argument.

And, yes, thinking about it more, I made a generalization based on a couple of characters. Maybe I’ve just gotten caught up in the focus of the recent arc. Or perhaps it’s because Jess and Rachel both seem to have had multiple partners, so I thought it was common there. Or maybe I just make logical fallacies all the time. =P Who knows?!

Despite what I said earlier, I still enjoy reading the comic. I suppose the very fact that your comic compels people like me to make comments, even bone-headed and poorly thought out comments, is an indication that you have drawn us into your story world.
