*Lucy appears, startling Chirpy.*
Lucy: Peek-a-boo!

Lucy: I see you! ♥
*Lucy tickles Chirpy.*
Chirpy: AHHH!! Hahaha!!
*Yashy looks on with curiosity.*
Yashy: …

*Yashy bounds towards them.*
Yashy: Hey! You’re not her mother!
*Lucy wryly smiles.*
Lucy: You play with her, then.
*Chirpy looks at Yashy with excitement.*
Chirpy: ♥!

Yashy: I was just about to invite her to another satisfying round of video games!
Chirpy: !
*Chirpy looks worried.*

*Chirpy pouts.*
Chirpy: I dun like video games..
*Yashy holds her hands to her hips, indignant.*
Yashy: What?!

*Lucy softly smiles, gesturing to Yashy.*
Lucy: She’s just a baby. Some things are still too hard for her.

Lucy: You can play peek-a-boo though! You can still have fun that way, right?
*Lucy turns to Chirpy with a maternal, comforting expression.*
Chirpy: !
*Yashy looks on, blankly.*
Yashy: .. That’s boring.

*Yashy walks away, irritated.*
Yashy: YOU play with her, then.
Lucy: Okay!

*Chirpy looks worried.*
Chirpy: Does Mommy hate me?
Lucy: No way! She’s just not a lot older than you, so she doesn’t always understand..

*Lucy picks up Chirpy and embraces her.*
Lucy: Cheer up, Chirpy! You got me too, y’know! ♥
Chirpy: Eee!

*Chirpy warmly hugs Lucy back.*
Chirpy: I love you, Girl-Kitty..
Lucy: Aww, I love you too, sweetie.

*Mike appears behind Lucy, looking on with admiration.*
Mike: That’s so tender!
*Lucy blushes in embarrassment.*

*Lucy releases Chirpy and instantly uppercuts Mike.*
Mike: ACK!!

*Lucy, still blushing, grabs Mike by his chest fur.*
Lucy: HOW LONG WERE YOU THERE!!
*Mike looks nervously at Lucy’s furious face.*
Mike: What’s wrong?!

*Mike gently smiles.*
Mike: You’re not embarrassed, are you? Because I love seeing this side of you! It’s very touching!

Lucy: …
*Mike continues to smile at a dumbstruck Lucy.*

Lucy: OUT!
*Lucy kicks Mike out her front door. He bounces out with a stunned expression.*

Author commentary

Veronica: Chirpy’s meant to be an infant around this time. Kids seem to learn languages very quickly! Chirpy was found near the end of 6th grade (April).. and this incident with Blur happened in the beginning of 7th grade.. around autumn so October or so. I really need to make a timeline of all the incidents happening so that this comic is made neat and lacking in paradoxes!

Lucy can’t deal being vulnerable around BOYS…
