*Two princess dolls face each other, smiling.*
Princess Heart: Hi, Pretty Princess Star! I love your hair!
Princess Star: I love yours too, Pretty Princess Heart!

*Two other princess dolls join them.*
4th princess: Let’s save the world, Princess Team! With the power of love!
Princesses: Yeah! Yay!

4th princess: But wait! Where’s the fifth member? Pretty Princess Raindrop?
Princesses: Yeah? Where?

Lucy: Taxi’s here!
*A toy car appears, driving over several of the princesses.*
Princesses: YEEK!!

Lucy: Wanna ride to the castle?
*Lucy, smiling, holds up the toy car and points to it.*
Lucy: It’ll cost ya ten bucks!

*The girls look horrified.*
Ribbon girl and friends:
Lucy: ..?

*The ribbon girl leans toward Lucy, frowning.*
Ribbon girl: No! No cars! Where’s Pretty Princess Raindrop?
*Lucy looks nervous.*
Lucy: Umm..

*The ribbon girl looks down angrily as she notices the doll, which Lucy is sitting on.*

*She looks back at Lucy, scowling.*
Ribbon girl: We need the fifth Pretty Princess!
Lucy: But I don’t wanna play with dolls..
Ribbon girl: WHY?!

*Lucy shuts her eyes and holds up her hands in frustration.*
Lucy: T-they’re just so STUPID!

*The ribbon girl stares at Lucy, annoyed.*
Ribbon girl:
*Lucy meets her gaze, also looking annoyed.*
Lucy: ..?

*The ribbon girl points to Lucy, yelling.*
Ribbon girl: Then you’re not allowed to play with us!
*Lucy reels in shock.*
Lucy: Huh?!

Random kid: Can I be Pretty Princess Raindrop?
Ribbon girl: Of course!
*Lucy walks away, looking grumpy.*
Lucy: That was a stupid game anyway.

*Two boys sit together, playing with toy cars.*
Boy 1: Vroom, vroom!
Boy 2: I’m gonna crash!
*Lucy notices them and perks up.*

*Lucy grins enthusiastically.*
Lucy: Hi! Can I play?
*The boys glare at her.*
Boy 1 and Boy 2:

Boy 1 and Boy 2: Gross, no! You’re a girl! No girls allowed!
Boy 1 and Boy 2: Cooties!! Eww!!
*Lucy clutches her chest, looking hurt.*

*Lucy walks away. She glances back toward the boys with a frustrated look.*
Lucy: Hmmph.

*Lucy sits on the floor, playing with a toy car by herself. She looks lonely.*
Mike (narrating): Usually when you’re that little, you look forward to playtime more than anything, but Lucy told me that playtime only reminded her of how alone she felt…

Author commentary

Veronica: It’s unfortunate how much of an outcast she became. She just went to the wrong people to play.. I’m sure not all kids are like that, but she just interacted with some really rude kids and that affected her in a bad way.
