*Lucy looks up at Mike and Paulo, distressed.*
Lucy: Mike! Are you sure about this?!
*Mike looks annoyed. Paulo relaxes beside him.*
Mike: I am! Get off my back!
*Paulo and Mike crouch down, ready to race. Paulo glances at Mike, looking cocky.*
Paulo: You ready to lose?
*Mike stares straight ahead with calm determination.*
Mike: Whatever. Three.. two.. one..
Mike: GO!
*Mike and Paulo jump into the next tree.*
Friends: Oh, they started! Go! Whoo!
*Lucy blushes and looks on, warily.*
Lucy: Paulo is really fast up there..
*Daisy cheers, pumping a fist in the air.*
Daisy: Go, Mikie! Go!
*David smiles at Sue, beside him.*
David: Let’s chase ’em, Sue!
*She smiles back.*
Sue: Okay!
*Sue, Daisy, and David run through the trees, smiling and cheering.*
Sue: Go!!
Daisy: Whoo!
David: Yay~
*Mike stumbles as he lands.*
Mike: Ughhh!
*Paulo grins and leaps ahead.*
Paulo: Too slow, Mike!
*Mike grits his teeth.*
Mike: Nghh.. We’ll see about that!
*Mike jumps into the next tree.*
Sue: We’re catching up!!
David: Yeah!
Daisy: You can do it Mikie!
*Lucy pants, struggling to keep up with her friends on foot. Yashy wakes up, looking groggy.*
Yashy: Uh?
*Lucy follows Mike and Paulo with her eyes as she tries to catch up.*
Lucy (thinking): This is really dangerous.. I know they’re used to it, but..
*Mike lands on another tree, looking exhausted.*
Mike (thinking): Ughh.. Paulo’s almost there!
*Mike soars toward the next tree, squeezing his eyes shut.*
Mike (thinking): I can make it!!
*Mike opens his eyes and is unsettled by what he sees.*
Mike: Huh?!
*A bird in its nest blocks Mike’s path. It stares back at Mike in terror.*
*The bird braces itself and hides its face in its wings. Mike turns midair to avoid landing on it, slamming into the side of the tree instead.*
Mike: Nghh!!
*Mike falls out of the tree toward the the river. Daisy and Sue notice and stop running.*
*Daisy and Sue look on in shock.*
Sue: Huh?
Daisy: ?
*Lucy is horrified.*
Lucy: Mike?!
*Yashy looks confused.*
Yashy: ?
