*Lucy buries her face in her hands.*
Lucy: You almost died!! How can you say ANYTHING right now?!
*Mike looks at her, uneasy.*

*Lucy turns to him and shouts angrily.*
Lucy: How could you do that to everyone?

*Lucy’s face falls, and she begins to cry again.*
Lucy: How.. could you do that to me..?!

Lucy: You know I can’t swim.. I was helpless in there.. I was alone.. and why?!
*Mike looks down, devastated.*
Mike: …

Lucy: I couldn’t.. I tried but I couldn’t and I almost.. I almost..
Mike: …
*Mike looks up at Lucy with a sad expression.*

*Mike grabs Lucy’s shoulder, looking serious.*
Mike: Lucy..
*Lucy looks surprised.*

*Mike pulls her into a hug.*
Mike: I.. I’m so sorry..

Mike: I promise.. Never again.. I never want you to risk yourself like that again..
*Lucy listens, her eyes still wet with tears.*

*Mike’s eyes slip shut as he continues hugging her.*
Mike: I don’t want you to ever have to worry about me. I promise..

*Lucy stares off into the distance, still emotional.*

*Lucy closes her eyes and hugs Mike back, resting her head on his shoulder.*
Lucy (thinking): Mike..

*Her flashback ending, Lucy sits at her desk, sleeping.*
Lucy (thinking): I’m sorry..
Mike: Hey, Lucy!

*Lucy opens her eyes.*
Mike: Lucy! Wake up! The period’s over!
Lucy: Uh?

*Lucy looks up groggily. Paulo and Mike look down at her with concern. Mike gives a small smile.*
Mike: …

*Lucy stands up.*
Lucy: How long was I asleep?
*Mike puts a hand on his hip and smiles.*
Mike: I don’t know! We just got here and you were out cold..

*Mike starts walking, smiling at Lucy over his shoulder.*
Mike: You ready to go?
*Lucy follows.*
Lucy: Okay.

*Lucy suddenly glances back at Paulo.*
Paulo: ?

*Lucy has a slight frown on her face.*
Lucy: Paulo..
*Paulo looks at her, confused.*
Paulo: Eh?

Author commentary

Veronica: Paulo looks so much more mature than his old self.. I feel a bit proud of that.. he looks younger in flashbacks which is hard to do with other characters, especially other boys. Mike essentially looks the same..

You know, you don’t have to make yourself completely responsible for someone else’s life at such a young age, Mike..
