[A flashback begins.]
*The sun shines bright in the sky.*
Lucy (narrating): Summer vacation.. just a few months before we started sixth grade..
Lucy: Miiiiike!!

*Lucy, holding a sleeping Yashy to her chest, looks up at Mike and yells.*
Lucy: I’m bored! Get down from that dumb tree so we can go do something!

*Mike is lounging in a tree.*
Mike: But it’s such a nice spot to relax! You should come up here!

*Lucy looks annoyed.*
Lucy: Stop being such a dork! Come down so we can do something else!
Mike: NO!!

*Mike sits up and smiles smugly.*
Mike: If you wanna hang out with me so bad.. .. you can come get me!

Lucy: You know I have Yashy here! I can’t leave her alone!
Mike: Alright, then stay down! And let me have some peace and quiet!

*Mike leans back and makes a pouty face.*
Mike: You can always bug someone else if you’re bored with me.

*Lucy rolls her eyes.*
Lucy: And you call me stubborn.
Mike: I don’t always have to do what you wanna do!

*Mike grins.*
Mike: So just leave this stupid idiot to rest in his dumb tree!
Lucy: Ugh!

*Paulo, pouting, suddenly appears next to Mike.*
Paulo: She’s kinda right, though.
*Mike is surprised.*
Mike: Huh?!

*Mike looks irritated.*
Mike: Paulo?! Where’d you come from?!
*Paulo scratches his head and smiles.*
Paulo: I always climb up around here!
*Down below, Lucy blushes shyly at Paulo’s appearance.*

*Paulo grins mischievously.*
Paulo: But why are you just sitting around? Let’s race or somethin’!

*Mike looks at him quizzically.*
Mike: Race? Y’mean, like, who can jump from tree to tree the fastest?
Paulo: Duh!

*Paulo points past various trees.*
Paulo: Whoever’s fastest to the apple tree over there is the winner!

*Daisy, appearing out of nowhere, calls up to them with a frown.*
Daisy: That’s not fair, Paulo! You’ll outclimb him easily!
[Arrow pointed to Daisy: Has been following him.]
*Lucy raises an eyebrow.*
Lucy: Daisy?

*Paulo winks and gives a thumbs up.*
Paulo: I know I will, Daisy. I just wanna beat all of you at least once!
*Mike looks offended.*
Mike: What?!

*Mike scowls at Paulo.*
Mike: I’m sure I’m faster than you!
*Paulo smirks.*
Paulo: Is that an official challenge?

Mike: .. I guess it is! Let’s go!
Paulo: Okay, big shot!
*Daisy and Lucy look up at the two boys, nervous.*
Lucy: …
*David appears behind them with a smile and a wave.*
David: Hi~!

Veronica: gotta get back.. back to the past..

I like that Mike climbed that tree to actively avoid Lucy. Can’t get rid of her that easily though!

It’s nice to see that even though Paulo was a much more timid kid back in the day, is confidence boost was not out of nowhere. Paulo always had potential to be outgoing and extroverted!
