*Mike walks home slowly, dragging his feet.*
*Mike frowns and looks down as he walks, lost in thought.*
*Mike recalls the end of his conversation with Abbey.*
Mike: I should go.
Abbey: I’m sorry, Michael.. I didn’t think..
Mike: No.. it’s fine. I’ll go home. Sorry, Molly..
*Mike ignores the beautiful day as he walks on. He closes his eyes, depressed.*
Mike (thinking): … … How could I let myself lose it like that..
*Mike opens his eyes and looks up at the sky.*
Mike (thinking): How could I be so oblivious? Abbey doesn’t have a normal life. I just never noticed it..
Mike (thinking): And Daisy..
Mike (thinking): Oh god, Daisy.. I’m so sorry..
*Daisy is walking through a crowded plaza. A child and mother pass behind her, while three teenagers stand together by a large fountain, chatting happily.*
Kid: Mommy, Mommy!
*Daisy wanders, dejected, passing the smiling child. Daisy keeps her eyes down.*
Kid: The carnival! The carnival!
Mom: We’re going tomorrow! Just be patient!
Kid: I can’t waiiiiit~!
*Daisy glances sadly over her shoulder, sighing.*
Daisy: …
*Daisy looks away, fighting tears.*
Daisy (thinking): Everyone’s got their plans for the weekend.. .. And someone to share it with.
Daisy (thinking): Paulo’s got Tess.. Mikie’s got Sandy.. Lucy and her pets..
*Daisy visualizes Tess lovingly hugging Paulo from behind, and Lucy snuggling Yashy and Chirpy.*
*Daisy sighs, fighting back tears.*
Daisy: …
*Daisy walks past the crowd, heading for a column. She looks depressed.*
Daisy (thinking): I should just be happy for them.
*Daisy leans back against the column, eyes closed and hands behind her back.*
*Daisy looks out at the people in the plaza, watching the groups of happy students.*
Daisy (thinking): It’s not fair..
*Daisy lets her hand fall to her side.*
Daisy: (sigh)
*Daisy feels a hand clasp hers.*
*Daisy jumps, looking startled. Her eyes go wide.*
*Daisy, blushing, worriedly glances behind her.*
Daisy: ?!

Abbey shouldn’t be so angry and judgmental and Mike needs to be less oblivious to other people’s lives. They were both in the wrong.
