You had to miss it because you got depression that none of your friends had noticed, then when the source of your depression apologized and wanted to be friends with you again you got emotionally confused and tried to kill yourself

The sad thing is Lucy is right, and Abbey knew, that’s why he went for the break up the first time, he himself said it: “I just can’t force you to love me”, but then Paulo comes along, uses Abbey’s dead mother and then convinces Abbey that no one else will ever love him, so might aswell settle for being a trophy boyfriend… It was a complete disaster
In hindsight… It’s fascinating how abusive that relationship was, and it wasn’t Abbey who was doing the abuse, it was Daisy, forcing someone to be in a loveless relationship and then siding with Abbey’s bully, the con assault and the nasty break up were only a matter of time
