daisy expected rose petals to suddenly appear and shower onto the bed as well as wine being served and candles lighting up
The ultimate question
Chrisd765 September 9, 2013, 1:00 PM EST.
I was hoping the would do it and then abbey would be pressed charges for screwing an underage
Name September 9, 2013, 1:01 PM EST.
If they split them… I foresee shenanigans.
Anon September 9, 2013, 1:01 PM EST.
Daisy, Daisy, Daisy…Why must you be so cuuuute?!?
kaminari683 September 9, 2013, 1:01 PM EST.

I can see potential of Molly related disaster.
bjk September 9, 2013, 1:02 PM EST.
Nooo Daisy nooo. I was waiting for the sweet love to happen. But at least she is being mature about this! Just because you’re in a relationship doesn’t mean you should have sex straight away! You shouldn’t do it for fun or just for something to do. Do it because you love him.
And Abbey’s expression in that last panel, he just looks like “hell no I ain’t keeping them”
Bon-Clay September 9, 2013, 1:02 PM EST.
Aww, I’m glad they were able to be sensible about it and agree without either one of them freaking out TOO much. But I bet those condoms are going to come back to haunt whoever keeps them, hehehe. Hello there future plot device, it’s nice to meet you.
Lizzie September 9, 2013, 1:02 PM EST.
The box reminds me of those objects that move of their own accord when people look away… Dunno why I thought of that, just did
Neo September 9, 2013, 1:03 PM EST.
If they’re not gonna do it then well any concerns are out the window.
As for the box, it all depends on the parents.
Keyblade Dragon September 9, 2013, 1:03 PM EST.
Abbey is being surprisingly cool about this. Thought he would have freaked out by now. Meanwhile, that box is just sitting there… staring at them menacingly …
Pirinja03 September 9, 2013, 1:03 PM EST.
Romance at it’s finest.
Flame_LoneWolf September 9, 2013, 1:07 PM EST.
Abby’s face…he’s like Really Daisy? Really…you’re asking that….
Luna September 9, 2013, 1:09 PM EST.
I’m guessing Abbey keeps them and Molly finds them in the last page and asks him what they are when their foster parents are present.
Serving as a call back to when Molly heard them talking about “Babies”.
DeathofInk September 9, 2013, 1:10 PM EST.
Oh poor, sweet Daisy. Is she finally coming to realize that there’s really not that much romance involved in sex, once you come down to it? You can be as romantic as you want, it’s still hard not to break the mood by awkwardly struggling to find, and then put on correctly, a condom.
Eemia September 9, 2013, 1:11 PM EST.
I’m disappointed for some reason even though I did foresee this
runoono September 9, 2013, 1:14 PM EST.
Money well spent. They aren’t even trying. There siting there waiting for the condoms to do something when they should be exploring each other’s body’s.
Blue fox September 9, 2013, 1:14 PM EST.
Sex is, when its stops being romantic and the girl doesnt notice.
kommo1 September 9, 2013, 1:19 PM EST.

I approve of this message.
You don’t plan, just be prepared. Realize that it’s not going to be anything near amazing if you are not comfortable with it. I knew a friend whose boyfriend refused to do anything unless she opened the condom herself.
She found she couldn’t do it. She wasn’t ready.
I_Love_Lucy September 9, 2013, 1:33 PM EST.
Having them there is all fine and dandy for when you don’t want little pups scampering about but at the end of the day they just be glorified balloons
Strawberry~ September 9, 2013, 1:47 PM EST.

Syrus September 9, 2013, 2:12 PM EST.
The box… The way it’s portrayed makes me think of a horror movie… “And there on the table… Was the box!”
Misanthrope September 9, 2013, 2:32 PM EST.
lol, I guess we all kind of saw this coming. It was fun exploring this relationship with more focus and in particular, this situation of sexual curiosity, and especially arousal at their age.
They’re both good people and even though I wanted to at least see a little bit of action between them (I guess there was already some of that in the first few pages), I am somewhat relieved nonetheless that they decided to wait.
Emotions are a difficult thing to deal with and especially when it comes down to something like sex (your body sends you all those signals about how good it’s going to be, then afterwards your brain goes “aww, ****”), so I can definitely say they’ve made a mature decision here and they should be proud of it.
This isn’t to say those who have decided to have sex have made a wrong decision, unless members involved were harmed (I typically see it as emotional harm, as it is with most things these days, than physical harm) or the unplanned baby (poor life). As sacred as sex is (is anything sacred these days?) it’s also an activity, and like most activities it is best to be prepared for it (hence the condoms or “pills”).
Blank On Purpose September 9, 2013, 2:44 PM EST.
Abby’s expression on the last panel is like, “I thought you’d take them, you were the one with the idea.” Hah, love it.
Well, just make sure that they’re not expired, whenever it is you kids use them. Unless that’s a future plot point!!
Also, it would be funny if Abby keeps them, and Molly finds them around and tells Janet she found some funny “balloons”. Definitely not for playing baseball…
Me September 9, 2013, 2:46 PM EST.
eh, i think they should probably both keep some, in-case they do it at the other person’s house.
nightarix September 9, 2013, 3:11 PM EST.
It makes me smile how easygoing Abbey is about it and how he’s quick and smooth in assuring her that they don’t HAVE to do it then and there.
Honestly, this couple is my soft spot and has been for a long time. I feel like they work so well together. So I do hope they end up being together long enough to actually maybe use those condoms, when they’re ready… whenever that may be.
J September 9, 2013, 3:15 PM EST.
Oh my god, don’t tell me they are going to go on a romantic dinner! Or their relationship is going to degradate to a level of awkwardness that does not let them get any physical contact, like Paulo and Jazzmine, because the condoms will hunt them forever and they will think about the awkwardness instead of enjoying the moment… This webcomic is sooo cool :3
impawsibleNAME September 9, 2013, 3:15 PM EST.
Hey man, Daisy’s got it right. One month from now when it’s getting a bit heavy, you don’t want to find out you’re without any protection! Glad she’s taking things at her own pace. PS. Split them!

Montegro September 9, 2013, 3:47 PM EST.
Oh dear. Abbey knows what’s up and Daisy is trying to live her dream version of what sex is supposed to be. There’s a high chance two virgins won’t know what they’re doing right away, honey.
I don’t think she knows what she wants. Her drive to follow through comes from how she thinks others perceive her. Her wish is for it to be impossibly perfect and romantic. Her body is telling her to just do it already. Oh dear.

Crazygal123 September 9, 2013, 4:57 PM EST.
Poor Daisy. She was expecting 30 minutes of romancing and loving, not 30 seconds of awkwardly sitting there realizing her dream moment wasn’t quite there yet. I guess it’s better than the 30 seconds of hot sweaty fur flying around.

Cecilite September 9, 2013, 5:26 PM EST.
Unbeknownst to the two, the condoms that sat before them were slowly reaching out with their evil powers to corrupt the two into using them.
Soon, they would be overwhelmed with an urge…and urge to use them…inappropriately…
YES. THEY WOULD USE THEM AS WATER BALLOONS.
Oceanus92 September 9, 2013, 5:38 PM EST.
In the last panel Abbey looks sorta ****** that she just went back on him last minute….
but who’s going to blame them?
Bopbop September 9, 2013, 6:19 PM EST.

DON’T GIVE THEM TO ! YOU WILL NEVER GET THEM BACK!
Also, go a few pages back to when we first saw the box of condoms. That can’t possibly be Taeshi on the cover, RIGHT???
I’m starting to think that page one of this chapter isn’t foreshadowing…
YOU KNOW that part where they go, “WE DID IT! WE DID IT!”
Hawz September 9, 2013, 7:18 PM EST.
And thus is the page where Daisy realizes that Sex isn’t “planned” - something I think Abbey already knew, xD
Guessing September 9, 2013, 7:28 PM EST.
Dang, forgot the rose petals. Rookie mistake.
Tacsi September 9, 2013, 7:31 PM EST.
At some point in this chapter, Molly will end up playing with the condoms as baloons or finger puppets.
I swear on Bruce Lee’s honor that it will happen.
Turanis September 9, 2013, 7:38 PM EST.
@Turanis: An 8th grade boy did that at my middle school, at lunch. It went flying, and hit some kids. I HOPE YOU ARE NEVER IN THAT SITUATION!
Hawz September 9, 2013, 7:49 PM EST.
I dunno what’s more annoying here. Daisy’s childishness or Abbey’s near-indifference. 9.9
Jessica U. Ingmann September 9, 2013, 7:53 PM EST.
Sex and romance are different. obviously going from sit to sex doesn’t just happen. They don’t know how to work into it with foreplay, getting each other in the mood.

The gentleman keeps the box, duh. What do they teach in Home Ec. nowadays?
Eevee September 9, 2013, 7:57 PM EST.

@Taeshi&Suitcase: Arrest or shoot “The Pornographer,” please (I do not mean literally. Or do I?). I will not disagree with what method you choose.

The story of the relationship……..
Huh? September 9, 2013, 8:11 PM EST.
Trubeque September 9, 2013, 8:14 PM EST.
@Trubeque: There’s only two of ‘em, how would that work?
Hawz September 9, 2013, 8:18 PM EST.
Split up the amount of condoms fifty/fifty. and store them a dry place at room temperature and away from sunlight.
So either in a anonymous box in the bedside table drawer, or stuck under said drawer with strong doublesided tape.
Row September 9, 2013, 8:47 PM EST.
Jeje akward x3 cant way for tomorrow
eagle September 9, 2013, 8:59 PM EST.
Bit too young for wine, aren’t they?
TarriPup September 9, 2013, 9:16 PM EST.
Daisy should keep ‘em. I would love to see her furry, fluffy, puffy father again.
For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, check out “Ask Roseville High,” on Tumblr and search for her father.
Hawz September 9, 2013, 9:16 PM EST.
Also, they should both keep them.
They can take turns.
And maybe on the odd day out (since there are 7 days a week), maybe Paulo can hold onto them and talk them for walkies~
…wait a second…
TarriPup September 9, 2013, 9:17 PM EST.
In this arc, the climax is coming in two days. (pun definitely intended.)

Am I the only one who finds Daisy to be a little .. frustrating in this chapter?
i love her, I do, just .. I don’t know, she seems really pushy, almost like she expects Abby to do all the work
but hey, that’s just me.
Verndari September 9, 2013, 9:56 PM EST.
@Verndari: I say Daisy’s acting in resemblance to “Taeshi Dairy,” but that’s just me.
Hawz September 9, 2013, 10:06 PM EST.
: This isn’t very exciting anymore, I changed my mind! Also, you’re keeping them.
Subaru September 9, 2013, 10:24 PM EST.
“daisy expected rose petals to suddenly appear and shower onto the bed as well as wine being served and candles lighting up”
Yeah, I think they both did, though Abbey has been more realistic. Speaking of which, Abbey’s being a real sweetheart for not pushing her! Sometimes I forget what a gentleman he is(seeing as how Paulo’s presence sours him).
At least you have a plan, but do a little more research, you two! And Daisy, wait till you stop having doubts, because once it’s done, it’s done. The last thing you would want to regret is something beautiful and wonderful you want to share with your love.
EDIT: I’d also like to add that while it is their business if they do decide to have sex, it is also their business if they decide to WAIT.
From an objective standpoint, I’d like to point out that I don’t believe the vast majority of kids are emotionally mature enough for sex at fifteen years old. That’s where the legal age of consent comes in- that’s the legal understanding of mental and emotional maturity in regards to sex.
However, if they decide to, I wish them happiness. They’re a sweet couple! They are still kids, but I really do think that those two are mature enough to work through anything, with the effort.
GingerPaws September 9, 2013, 11:43 PM EST.
Who buys condoms too not use them, cut the just in case crap you not fooling eneyone
lov/hate/hurt September 10, 2013, 12:02 AM EST.
You would think that they may wanted to think this through alittle more
wolven_DM September 10, 2013, 12:25 AM EST.
No one should blame Daisy, it happens to the best of us, THEM STEREOTYPES happen to the best of us. At least it isn’t a serious mistake.
I agree with GingerPaws that teenagers are not usually emotionally mature for sex. Those few that may be ready are better off waiting anyway.
Why is the box of condoms on the floor with Daisy and Abbey staring at it? It’s… Awkward… seeing them stare at it. =kids wouldn’t understand.
Do they think that, because it’s purple like the floor, Molly won’t see it?
Also, I find it weird that people would think Molly would play with the condoms if she finds it. She is a smart girl, SHE CAN READ THE BOX.
Did Daisy’s tail eat up that pillow from the 1st panel?
Prediction: The question, “What if it breaks?,” pops up in the next page, and a bunch of close-ups are drawn in the last page, then the box opens on its own, Daisy screams, Abbey destroys the condoms with his fist, which somehow puts them in the mood, but they don’t have condoms. THE END.
Hawz September 10, 2013, 12:31 AM EST.
While I agree to a fault, I have to disagree on the meaning on the age of consent. I don’t know about other countries, but age of consent is not based on any scientific fact proving yay or nay if people are actually mature enough at that age. Thus why it varies around the world, for instance in Japan AoC is 14 (or 15 can’t remember that fact exactly), I think it’s about the same in Germany and a few other UK countries. In some countries it’s as young as 13. Basically, the US tries to say their reasoning for a 17-18 AoC is because it’s when the brain has matured to it’s furthest extent.
However a person could still have physical and mental maturing up to 20 years of age. The real reason they made the age of consent 17-18 was mostly for one reason, the youngest average age to balance the in flux of people entering and exiting the military to maintain the upkeep of a physically capable combat force. As for other countries, it’s more based on when the males and females are biologically mature enough for sex (in other words old enough to breed).
buchanen_neket September 10, 2013, 12:56 AM EST.
Oh God buchanen, just drop it. You had sex early at 16 as you so boldly announced and you lived without consequences, we get it.
I_Love_Lucy September 10, 2013, 1:11 AM EST.
This has nothing to do with the earlier debate. I just wanted to correct a misconception that the AoC is based on some scientific study saying everyone is mentally and physically mature around about 17-18 years of age when it was in fact based on pseudo-science (not even that, it’s more the science of philosophy) and can easily be disproven if someone credible were ever to point out that physically the body is still maturing up to 20 and mentally a person still matures up to the age of 30.
buchanen_neket September 10, 2013, 1:16 AM EST.
Jesus Christ… @I_Love_Lucy @buchanen_neket STFU. Nobody gives a sh!t. Besides, what are you both, 40? GTFO!
Tamaska- September 10, 2013, 3:00 AM EST.
Thank you very much - I think the last count had the male brain averages closer to 26 before full maturity is reached, but I have not been keeping up with the research since it’s about one dinner conversational joke.
At any rate, I was unaware that was why America has such a strange AoC, and just assumed it was because of the odd attitude to teenage sexuality present there. The historical explanation makes more sense.
Personally I favour Romeo/Juliet laws prior to 16 to preclude an older person taking advantage, but I believe those are usually factored into the lower AoC laws.

Masket September 10, 2013, 7:09 AM EST.
buchanen_neket: Sorry to be confusing, I didn’t think it was based on some scientific study! It’s more whatever society in that area thought when the law was put into effect. Though, interesting fact, I’d read that the brain doesn’t actually stop maturing until mid-20s (about 21 for women, 24 for men).
GingerPaws September 10, 2013, 2:00 PM EST.
