Transcript

*Lucy glares with gritted teeth and dramatic shading cast over her face.*
Lucy: RRRRR

*She springs up from the ground.*

*Katie looks alarmed.*
Katie: Um, what?!

Lucy: NGHHHH
*Lucy strains to leap forward.*

*Lucy begins to sprint, violently dragging Katie along the ground behind her.*
Katie: WAUGHHH

*Katie is tossed around recklessly, her ears blowing back as Lucy drags her.*
Katie: I’M STILL, LIKE, STILL ATTACHED TO YOU!!
Katie: AAAAAAAAAA

*Lucy runs comically fast, her expression crazed. Katie screams as blood begins to spurt from her head.*
Katie: LUCY, OH MY GOD!! SLOW DOWN!!

*The two approach the finish line.*

*Lucy leaps for the finish line, approaching it simultaneously with Mike and Paulo.*

*Mike and Paulo glance at Lucy.*
Mike: L-Lucy?
*Lucy crouches down, panting intensely. Katie has collapsed beside her, blood still spewing from her head.*

*The teacher raises a flag with a picture of a necktie on it, and looks confused.*
Poodle teacher: Uhh.. it’s a tie!
*Mike shouts in anger.*
Mike: WHAT?!

*Lucy, barely able to catch her breath, gloats. Her face is flushed red, but she looks pleased.*
Lucy: Hahh.. hahh.. haha! Not so tough (wheeze) now!!

Lucy: Gimme.. huff.. huff.. a minute.. hah.. hah.. and I’ll kick your ass the next game..!!
*Lucy, blushing and drenched in sweat, smiles victoriously.*

*Mike looks taken aback. Paulo stares forward with intense concentration, blushing.*
Katie: Can somebody UNTIE me?

*Paulo maintains his intense look.*
Paulo: I AM SO TURNED ON
*Mike turns to glare at Paulo, a blush on his face as well.*
Mike: Shut up.

Paulo: No, seriously. That’s hot.
*Mike looks away from him, perturbed.*
Mike: Shut up.

*Paulo stares blankly, his face still deeply red.*
Paulo: Her breathing sounds lik--
*Mike becomes furious.*
Mike: I SAID SHUT UP!!
Katie: I’m, like, COVERED in mud!

Veronica: GO GET EM, LUCY!!!!

When I initially made this page, I was taking a ton of inspiration from Azumanga Daioh. The running pose in panel six referenced Sakaki pretty directly!

I like that Paulo is focusing on Lucy’s breathing as opposed to Katie being drenched in mud.
