What are the odds that Paulo will be completely honest and straightforward about his current state-of-mind with Mike?
I still don’t buy that Paulo’s considering opening the playing field, rather he is going through an adjustment of not feeling so awkward about male to male interactions. Maybe he will look to Mike as a role model; Mike always seems to get a lot of flack for his effeminate nature, but is clearly zeroed in on his relationship with Sandy. He is also confident about himself. Paulo’s lack of self confidence is likely the driving factor in reacting very phobically in situations that remotely hint at something perceived as non masculine/hetero.
