Had it not been for Alej, the Mucy fallout, and the attempt, I feel that Lucy might have been able to come into her own the way her friends have. Instead, she became walled up. I hope we get some info on the dude from her blank period.

She looked much happier eating outside with Augustus… I feel like she needed some space from this friend group, and the way things went down pushed her back into it. It’s great that she’s supported by them, but I can understand why she has conflicting feelings, especially given her nightmares. She’s gone back to playing this role of “Lucy” and doing things that she thinks are best for them or what they want from her, unable to be honest or true to her own needs and feelings. I can see how this + nightmares + sleep deprivation can build resentment and lead to her lashing out. I’m very interested to see how the chapter title “Victim Complex” will come into play.

Communication is a 2 way road, you cant expect to insult people and treat them like trash and then not talk to them about how youre feeling when they’ve tried to help so so many times and reach out to you and then get upset when theyre not saying anything to you. I cant feel bad for her here when everyone’s /tried/ so much to help her and she only ever burns them away. You can only handle so much emotional abuse from people before you stop putting a hand out :/

I think Lucy would have been better off without this friend group in her life, if it was only her and Mike, I think they would have been better off mike would never have been bullied, belittled and become resentful to the point he sought sandy out for comfort and Lucy wouldn’t have to deal with pressure and constant judgement by them to act how they wanted her to act.

Some are reading it this way but I don’t think Lucy is responding to people not directly talking to her here for a second with angst. Because we’ve been directly shown that people have been calling out to talk to her about various things all day and she’s been pretty socially Busy. And in fact seems to be struggling pretty bad keeping up with it and having a working filter for the lingering angry thoughts while something’s eating her alive and she’s hardly sleeping. I think she’s just zoning out right now, if not actively taking advantage of no one looking her way right now to slip off, while at the same time she’s still haunted by a lot of history.
