A well-documented occurrence in cats is ‘displaced aggression’. When a cat is stressed by a source it cannot directly retaliate against, such as another cat behind a glass door, it will instead direct its hostility towards something it can reach.

This is basically a mirror to that time Mike grabbed her, kissed her, and not a few hours later went back to his gf without updating Lucy on that.
This hug is not as bad as that kiss was.
Lucy hugged him and almost right away realized it was wrong, backed away and said sorry.
The fact that she seems childish now could be her way of coping with her mistake..

Calling a teenager a sociopath and a monster who should get smitten for being mentally unwell and handling things in a very immature and, yes, harmful way is truly a choice.
Also, I’m not saying that her poor mental health or age excuses anything, but they explain the lack of maturity and capability to handle things in a way an adult would. Why are we villainizing any of these kids for being (traumatized) children

I don’t really know what she’s trying to achieve in the second panel. Making the one guy who unconditionally has your back and prioritises your mental health above all else become exasperated with your antics is not exactly the smartest move.

I’m hoping we repeat Burnt Bridges and have Augustus actually ask Mike for his side of the story, but I don’t think it’ll happen. I don’t think Augustus will physically attack Mike, like some others seem to think he will. If anything negative happens it’ll be him finding the right words to crush Mike further somehow, that’s the Auggie WayTM. Augustus doesn’t really get physical, he lets others do that so they get in trouble instead lol

Lucy is literally being playful with Augustus in panel 2, just like how he’d playfully rib her. They’re comfortable with each other enough to push each other’s buttons a little bit sometimes.
Augustus at the end is perplexed by Mike coming inside and looking so dazed. He might approach him neutrally to see what’s going on (since he’s actually a pretty caring person), but I doubt he’ll be cruel.
Lucy just needs some people she can let her guard down around so she can enjoy being a more light hearted teen.
