she clearly has issues trusting you, dude. you’ve directly ignored her while she’s pleading you to stop doing something allegedly in her name, and even if you don’t know the extent, how do you think people feel when they know you’re constantly carrying around a reminder of someone they clearly have bad history with?

Honestly It’s not so complicated. Lucy doesn’t want to confide in her friends because they are the ones she doesn’t trust. She doesn’t want to “bother” Auggy, and then she gets an anxity attack, goes outside, and has a mental breakdown on Mike. She goes back in, knowing she shouldn’t have done that, and bam, Auggy confronts her. She gets nervous and flustered because she knows she’s supposed to keep away from Mike and so doesn’t want to say/admit that she “messed up” and went to Mike. I get her.
As for Auggy, I think he’s having mix emotions between feeling he failed to watch over her and feeling a pinch of “we are trying so hard to keep you emotionally safe but then you just go to him? What is this all for, then?”
But, uh yeah, those are just my thoughts.

she outright told Augustus to stop the second she entered the fight in Line. before that she’d made it clear that she really didn’t want him doing anything about it. as much as it may have been causing her issue, she did not believe her existence should fetter Mike or vice versa, they both still have a right to exist in areas that they may sometimes overlap. that and the phone were two separate points that both have straining effects on what they feel for each other and how much Lucy’s willing to be open to him
and yes, trust does factor into it, even if it’s not the only factor

I’m sorry, I don’t understand the first part.
Out of all the others, Lucy trusts Auggy the most, second place after Mike (if they were still friends, or a couple). After everything she and Augustus went through together, that trust can’t be erased so easily. If anything then Auggy is the one to start having some trust issues to let her be alone during lunch. ;>_>
Lucy is also annoyingly stubborn and wants to deal with her problems all by herself, so I think that stops her from properly asking Auggy to shut that phone up. :/
Maybe in the next chapter, Lucy will finally put her foot down regarding that buzzing.
Either way, I think you’re wrong, and you think I’m wrong, so we leave it at that, i guess.

I feel like Augustus is going to be angry with Lucy, not Mike, becuase he might see this as her “wasting” the help he’s giving her.
Auggie keeps doing what he thinks is best, which is keeping the two of them apart, and now it looks (to him) like Lucy is deliberately speedrunning her next crashout despite his best efforts.
He’s just starting to understand what it’s like to be “normal”, and now he’s looking down the barrel of more responsibility for the girl that (imo, rightfully) blames him for part of her CPTSD.
Man, V & O, you know how to weave a story’s threads so tightly that the characters always feel like they only have one option (which is of course the option that causes the most DRAMA)
