I think Lucy wants to die. Everything is just a reminder. When she ran that race with her friends, her hip hurt her and it was a reminder of her attempt. Augustus moving on and her having to be around people who supported each other and grew past the trauma while she stayed tethered to it. She repeats this cycle wherever she goes.

Okay listen. The fact that Lucy is STILL hugging close to Daisy in the hallway as she yammers on about learning more about the people she cares about is SO CUTE!!!! Like Daisy doesn’t mind at all that Lucy is hanging off her like that. She’s not making a big deal out of it or questioning it! aaawwwww!!!!! X)

I genuinely don’t know how to read Lucy’s feelings here. To me it looks like “Ugh there’s that guy who hit on me” combined with “Ugh am I not good enough to hit on again?” I’m thinking maybe dog guy looks like whatever dude Lucy’s mom mentioned being at the other school and she’s projecting hard onto this guy? I don’t know. Maybe she’s not actually mad at this guy and is just annoyed at Daisy. :/ idk. Good expressions.

A sad reality of people who suffered at the hands of others. They start seeing them everywhere

In reality that teen didn’t really do anything wrong. Just awkwardly (failing) trying to be smooth.

In Lucy’s eyes he was a threat which now translates into resentment

It’s a shame our helpfull survival tools often also stand in the way of recovery
