*Lily shuts the door with a “SLAM”.*
Lucy: Lily?

Lily: Yooo~
*Lily smirks at Lucy.*
Lucy: Strange greeting.

Lucy: What are you hiding?
*Lucy looks suspicious. Lily waves her off.*
Lily: Oh, nothing, Lucy-dear.. ♥

*Lucy raises an eyebrow.*
Lily: How was prom?
Lucy: You mean the one I didn’t attend? Pretty fun.

*Chirpy leaps up into frame.*
Chirpy: But Girl-Kitty, how do you know it was fun if you weren’t there?
*Lucy shrugs with a sigh.*

*The doorbell rings. Lucy freezes up.*

Lucy: I’ll get it~!
Lucy: Who the hell would it be this late?
*Lily grins to herself.*

*Lucy opens the door to find Mike. He looks pathetic, blushing with a quivering lip.*

Lucy: Mike?!
*Mike lunges towards Lucy, wailing.*
Mike: Lucyyy~ I’m so sorry I treated you badly!
*Lucy recoils.*

*Mike grabs Lucy, squeezing her into a hug as she scrambles to escape.*
Mike: I was so stupid about Sandy and you’ve always been so patient with me and I’m really sorrrrrry!
Lucy: STOP TOUCHING ME!!

*Lucy angrily blushes and snatches Mike’s cane, which surprises him.*

*Lucy chases Mike, waving his cane.*
Mike: STOOOOP!!
Lucy: STAND STILL!
*Yashy looks on from the foreground.*
Yashy: What.

*Yashy and Chirpy watch with confused looks.*
Yashy: I’m REALLY confused!
*Chirpy raises her wing.*
Chirpy: What’s a prom?!

*Lucy catches Mike, pulling him close with an angry expression on her face. Mike sweats, looking fearful.*
Mike: D-don’t hurt me.

*Lucy’s expression changes to a sweet smile.*
Lucy: Hearing that means a lot. But it’s been a a very long time and you know I forgive you, right?
*Mike blushes, taken aback.*

*Lucy kicks Mike through the door.*
Lucy: NOW GET OUT!!

*Lucy smiles softly and blushes, dusting off her hands.*
Lucy: Idiot.
*Yashy and Chirpy yell in exasperation.*
Yashy: WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!
Chirpy: WAIT, BOY-KITTY!

*Mike grins back at Lucy’s house as he walks away. Chirpy can be heard yelling inside.*
Chirpy: What is proooom!!
END

Author commentary

Veronica: I love Chirpy’s innocence and obliviousness.. what’s amusing is that Yashy actually had that gullible personality in the comics I made predating BCB, whereas Chirpy was a bit more.. intelligent. Chirpy used to roll her eyes when Yashy would take things literally.

That personality trait seems to have completely slipped onto Chirpy, though, with good reason too! She’s the baby of the group! Can’t have two oblivious kids. Though Yashy’s oblivious in her own, chaotic way.

Anyway, what a nice way for things to end! Though a really important question has yet to be answered..

Just what is prom?

man this chapter really touched me. And it made me understand a bit more about the complexities of relationships and the past. This really affected me.
