*Mike covers his face with his hand.*
Mike: I would have asked her out at the end of that summer.
Mike: That’s how things should’ve been, right?
*Yashy strolls in.*
Yashy: Hey! What’s going on in this angst session?
*Lily gives Yashy a soft smile.*
Lily: Nothing that concerns you, Yashy.
*Mike watches Lily and Yashy talk.*
Lily: Say, Yashy. How do you feel about your mother?
Yashy: She should quit hiding the chocolate bars.
Lily: No, Yashy..
Lily: I mean your real mother.
Yashy: My Mom is Lucy.
Lily: Yashy.. Lucy’s a cat. I’m referring to your birth mother.
*Yashy frowns.*
Yashy: I don’t know her.
Lily: But..
*Yashy looks irritated.*
Yashy: Look, the only Mom I know about is Lucy. She’s who raised me! She took care of me, nobody else!
Lily: Well, what if you could change that? Would you choose to never meet Lucy if you could have a more normal life?
Yashy: Hell no!!
*Mike looks surprised.*
Mike: ?
*Yashy waves her arm dismissively.*
Yashy: Maybe you’re right.. maybe I coulda had a normal life.
Yashy: Maybe I coulda been a better person!
*Yashy softly smiles.*
Yashy: But why would I worry about that? It didn’t happen. And life’s pretty good over here.
Yashy (narrating): I got Mom, and Chirps, and Blur, and you, and.. Flea, I guess.
*Yashy pictures herself in Lucy’s arms, Chirpy clinging to her back as Mike and Blur kindly look on.*
*Yashy smiles. Mike listens to Yashy with wide eyes.*
Yashy: I grew up with you guys. I’m not gonna spend time crying about something else that coulda happened.
Yashy: Can I GO now?!
Lily: Hah, you may. Sorry for keeping you.
*Mike glances guiltily to the side.*
Mike: …
*Yashy charges off.*
Yashy: Now where is Blur! I’m not done gloating!
*Lily smiles.*
Lily: She’s doing well, isn’t she?
*Mike looks at her with a hint of sadness.*
Mike: Lily..
*Lily’s expression turns serious.*
Lily: If you want a resolution, you’re going to have to speak to Sandy.
Lily: You’ll know what’s right if you look inside your heart.
*Lily smiles and waves as she walks off.*
Lily: Do send my regards, though! She sounds very nice.
*Mike looks down at the letter, uncertain.*
