This really doesn’t feel like Mike setting a boundary, especially with how he was finding solace with everyone seeming happy without him. I’m not saying that Mike SHOULDN’T draw any boundaries, but I feel like this right here is another red flag towards his self-worth.

well he didn’t set the boundary. but he sure can enforce it. Lucy can’t guarantee that she won’t hurt him or get anyone else to do so on her behalf, so while this is a problem for so many other reasons, it’s not one that gets solved by letting her get close

It’s sad, really. Lucy has Jordan and Auggy who want and are glad to be there for her, but in her mind she doesn’t want to “bother” them..so she gravitas back to an old and toxic way. 😩

Mike’s expression in the third-to-last panel is devastating. I just can’t accept the idea that he never cared about Lucy; that’s the look of someone who, despite everything, still wants to reach out and help her.
It’s probably for the best that he doesn’t at this moment because neither of them are in the right place emotionally but there’s LOVE there, man! Platonic or otherwise
