Just because you have trauma doesn’t mean you get a pass for being backhanded. I am one of the few who are sitting here and hoping that someone calls her out on it and it pushes her to seek help.

Paulo will absolutely rake her over the coals if she takes digs at Daisy during the study session. Whether or not she actually learns from it and seeks help we’ll have to wait and see.

I totally agree. I do feel sad though, thinking about how tired Lucy must feel. Nightmares for weeks, plus school? I struggled with getting enough sleep in high school even without nightmares. That exhaustion physically made me so miserable and uncomfortable. Sleep is an important need, especially for teenagers! Being exhausted to that point makes it so hard to think clearly or regulate emotions. it’s not an excuse, and I do hope someone calls her out on it in a way she can receive. I just really think she needs a good night of sleep.

Not sure, could be a mix of the two! The way I see it, she genuinely approached with the intent of helping out, so, Lucy combining the “you don’t have anything better to do” quickly with “It’s my worst subject” could make that one pass under the radar pretty easily. If you didn’t hear the “you” (or read it, in my case, I had to double back) clearly or didn’t think about it, I could see it being mostly unnoticed. But, also, Daisy is pretty aware that Lucy can be kind of hurtful in her words and still maintains a friendship, so it could be she’s passing it off as Lucy’s defensiveness. I kind of lean towards she didn’t notice though, because personally I think Daisy was expecting more resistance to hanging out (seeing her “wait really?” face especially), and I think the immediate agreement from Lucy caught her off guard to pay attention to the full response.
