*Mike recounts his first meeting with Sandy.*
Mike (narrating): Sandy..
Mike (narrating): My first childhood friend and.. my first crush..
*A young Sandy smiles. She’s a cute white cat with black hair, held up in a ponytail by a ribbon.*

Mike (narrating): The most beautiful girl I ever met..
Mike (narrating): If only you saw her, you’d know what I mean.

Mike (narrating): It was way back in third grade.
*Mike sweats and blushes as he does schoolwork.*
[“Pleasenoticemepleasenoticeme” is written repeatedly around Mike, representing his inner voice.]

*Mike draws a doodle of Sandy on his schoolwork.*
Mike: Sandy..
Sandy: Yes?

Sandy: Maishul?
*Mike is shocked to look up and see a smiling Sandy leaning close to his face.*
Mike: Ah!!

*Mike is frozen as Sandy leans on his desk.*
Mike (narrating): The first time she talked to me.. I was speechless!

*Mike sweats, as Sandy looks on blankly.*
Mike: Umm.. umm..

*Sandy points at Mike’s doodle.*
Sandy: Is that me?
*Mike blushes with a wide-eyed expression.*
Mike: YES

*Mike turns away, blushing.*
Mike: I mean NO! I mean..
*Sandy pauses.*
Sandy: …

*Sandy beams at Mike.*
Sandy: It’s very nice! You’re good at drawing!

*Mike is flabbergasted, his mouth hanging open in shock.*

Teacher: Okay, everybody! In your seats! Class is starting!
Sandy: Okay!

Sandy: See you later, Maishul!
*Sandy turns away and smiles back at Mike, who remains stunned, a deep blush on his face.*
Mike: B-Bye..

*Mike still sits frozen, silently blushing.*
Mike (narrating): Never mind that I couldn’t really speak.. never mind that she pronounced my name wrong..
Mike: …

*Sandy is sitting back at her desk among other classmates.*
Mike (narrating): She noticed me! She actually noticed me!!

*Sandy notices Mike still looking at her.*

Mike (narrating): It was the start of something amazing..
*Mike smiles sweetly at Sandy.*

*Sandy returns Mike’s smile from across the room.*
Mike (narrating): The beginning of me and Sandy!
