So there’s an intermission chapter between 36 and 37 called Out of The Frame where Sue forms the Roseville High Neglected Club. Sue was jealous that she couldn’t sit at Lucy’s table, once she was invited she disbands the club.
When Lucy calls Sue an attention whore that was the first thing that came to mind.
Personally think she has her moments where I’d agree with you and moments like this where I think of Out of The Frame, so I guess we’re both right?

I always took that as a joke about the background characters and not a serious representation of her character, especially as it happened once, partially as a big nod to the fan-inspired early background characters, and never again

Honestly as someone who has PTSD, your repeating nightmares really do warp your view of reality and your brain will conflate the real life person in them with the one you see in your nightmares and we’ve see how Sue is in those nightmares Lucy has. Never an excuse of course to treat real life people like that, but I really feel for her.

Dang! I guess this chapter will be about Lucy taking out too much of her tangle of trauma-feelings (towards those who were there during Confrontation) on her friends.
I am surprised by everyone saying that Sue is an attention whore. She never came off that way for me. She has her own friends but she doesn’t go out of her way to try and get noticed. The cheerleading thing was about her wanting to prove she “wasn’t a loser” to Stacy, not about getting attention in general. She can be abrasive and opinionated sometimes, sure, but that doesn’t automatically mean “attention whore”. I think Lucy is intended to be in the wrong here.

This all feels ominous. I find Sue hard to get behind sometimes, but she never came off as desperate for attention.
Up until a few pages I wasn’t entirely sure what it was that Lucy was hung up about. With everything we’ve seen it feels like a maelstrom is due to arrive and all this nice weather is just a mask.
