Aside from Tess and Jasmine, the 3 other people that Paulo could’ve had a long term relationship with: Lucy, James and Daisy (Mike has been the obstacle between all of these) and seeing how Paulo even has a thing for Mike it’s magnified.

Lucy has made it abundantly clear who doesn't want a romantic relationship with him, James is a himbo who fell for David in seconds, and Daisy he refuses to pull the trigger on. The biggest obstacle is Paulo himself

But you can see how Paulo might think of Mike as a roadblock here. Lucy he's aware of because he talked to her. But James and Daisy? Far as Paulo is aware, they're both still crushing on Mike and not giving Paulo any consideration. (I don't recall Daisy ever mentioning she got over Mike to Paulo) It's clear to us that Paulo has a shot with them, but as we're seeing in this page, he feels like he constantly has to keep competing with Mike, while it seems all Mike has to do is exist. Paulo is venting frustration from his perspective here, it's important to recognize not every character is working with perfect knowledge the same way as the reader.

Yeah rejections are def getting to him. I wonder if Mike is going to say anything to Paulo about the kiss? Paulo already knows Lucy ran out crying that day, so if he knows for certain it's something Mike did? Whooo boy.

This might be one of those times where Paulo is just gotta let it all out. Mike thankfully has shown he's not going to leave just because of it though. As much as I want to rag on Paulo again he's got no clue how to carry this grief, so I just feel bad for him...
