im so torn up i want them to hate each other forever but im also so obsessed with how drawn they are to each other and can’t help but root for mucy no matter how toxic

This is… actually very sad. This is how it all began; Mike was always there to help Lucy, but the way she treated him had him backed into a corner in a way that just… ended up badly all around.

My theory here is that there are three possible outcomes:

- Mike realizes what she’s trying to do and doesn’t give her what she wants, which would be enabling her constant need to find comfort in anyone willing to give it to her when she’s like this.

- Lucy realizes what she’s doing, since she (and her supporters) practically took any and all people that would have been Mike’s remaining friends to help him through his own crisis.

- … they both put aside the pettiness and see each other’s pains to realize that all they needed to do is just talk to each other, vent it out, hear each other’s side to realize that they’ve been hurting each other and they just… need to put an end to it. Shake hands, make up, and let time heal all wounds.

I know it’s easier said than done, but they have friends willing to help them, to support them and figure out what can be done to start the healing process.

I hope this ends well, but all I can think about is how one of the big issues Mike had with Lucy that eventually led to December was resentment over her dependence on him. He was complaining about it as far back as Rising Temperature. I could see him erupting because in his eyes, she’s doing the same thing where she only comes back to him when she needs him after “hurting” him (he’s probably going to have a self-serving memory about why he’s alone in the track rn. Yes I mostly blame Augustus for that but Mike did not help things)

These two used to be friends for most of their lives. I’ve had nasty fights with my brothers in the past, but we always eventually reconcile.

It doesn’t seem that weird to me that she would approach someone who used to be her friend for most of her childhood. He was also the only one there for her when Alejandro tried to do terrible things to her.
