I think it’s asking a bit too much of Abbey to be able to fix all this with limited context and I’m a little worried things might just get more complicated. But it really would be nice I think if Abbey could like offer some words from someone who’s been in similar ish shoes. He too made his exodus from that infamous table one day after some nasty drama came to a head and boiled over in a huge scene. Maybe he can offer some perspective on how he moved on and past it and he’s doing much better now and there’s such a thing as life after the lunchtable even if it doesn’t seem like it right now

Obviously the gesture from Abbey is sweet (it’s insane that he’s the only one who remotely gives a fuck about Mike’s mental health), but I’m worried this will lead to Abbey inviting Mike to hang out with his friend group, which obviously includes Haley. I imagine Haley won’t want him hanging around their table, and if that is the case, thats effectively two tables he’s essentially barred from joining which will only fuel his destructive “man everybody really does hate me” mindset.

Recent drama aside, theres no way Abbey doesn’t subconsciously resent Mike just a bit out of jealousy because he was Daisy’s object of desire for so long, any other petty teenager would’ve absolutely made it Mike’s problem too so props to Abbey for having a good friendship with Mike despite his (then) girlfriend secretly wanting to be all over him :‘D
