HALEY….

Honestly can’t blame her

No point in taking on more then you can handle, it will only tear you down. And that doesn’t help anyone

Just eh… you’re actually actually going to communicate that to the family right Haley?

… right?

I mean she’s a teenager in a family going through a divorce, she ought to but I don’t think you can really hold it against her if she doesn’t

Oh no, Haley…

I understand why she’s burned out; it looks like she’s becoming her own person at school with a friend group that cares about her, and her mom keeps expecting her to drop everything when stuff goes wrong at home…

Haley deserves to enjoy her innocence, but Mike desperately needs someone to notice what’s wrong.

MOM AND DAD, I’M LOOKIN’ AT YOU!

Patience, Compassion and Empathy are heading down the court, ball in hand.

If they make the shot into the Basket of Understanding, Haley will understand things from Mike’s point of view too

They aim, they shoo- WAIT WHAT!?

THE OPPOSITE TEAM HITS THEM ALL WITH THE RKO!

ANGER DOUBT AND BURNOUT HAS TAKEN THE BALL!!! THEY SHOOT AND SCORE!!!

TEAM APATHY WINS!!!! MISUNDERSTANDING SPREADS!!!!

I can’t blame Haley for how she feels but please talk to Mike or to your Mother!

Please!

Honestly just seems like no one likes talking about what’s effecting them at all. They would rather let it boil it up inside and eventually take over their lives.

I get the feeling that if she said any of this to her mom…. it wouldn’t actually go well? We saw how Ellen reacted just giving her Mike’s lunch, imagin how that would go if Haley actually said anything

Like I don’t think Ellen would be purposefully abusive, but snapping and yelling about everyone in the family needing to pull their weight and such

Being the eldest and having a younger star sibling must be hard.

She probably feels like a secondary caretaker without any kind of recognition or real help. Might make a person resentful and lonely.

Haley is living the middle-child life. 😭

Mike’s the oldest, so their parents have an expectation for him to always perform well. Chris is the youngest and a toddler, so he gets the second most attention because he can’t take care of himself yet. Meanwhile, since Haley’s the second-born, she’s practically forgotten about outside of work that needs doing around the house. Yet at the end of the day, none of the kids in this family get the real attention they deserve.

Mike gets praise, but it’s from the threshold of his bedroom door as his parents look in every once in a while to see that their child is spreading himself thin with schoolwork and things that’ll look good on his college resume. Haley is only spoken to when they need her to take care of the baby or something they don’t have time to manage around the house. And Chris? With two parents who have full-time careers, how often do we see these kids’ parents with that baby? They spend so little time with that boy; I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Chris accidentally refer to Haley & Mike as Mom and Dad one day.

Also, speaking of their parents, they absolutely knew that, given their busy work schedules and failing relationship. They had absolutely no reason to mess around and have a third child, especially when they waited until both of their oldest children were in high school to do so. What? Did they think having another baby was suddenly going to fix all the problems in their marriage? Because third time’s the charm, right? 😒

Set your foot down girl. You are not a free labour source so other people can escape into bullshit

Are we even sure Mike’s been paying enough attention to his family to know his parents are having issues? The fact we haven’t heard about this from his perspective leads me to think he hasn’t.
