Damn Paulo, that’s not really what you promised but ok

It’s close enough. His original promise was arguably worse, cutting Mike off completely.

ok well in the broad sense Daisy’s right but I am actually not sure what she might be referring to

She’s referring to anytime Mike didn’t pay attention to her 🙄

I don’t think Lucy promised her that Mike would pay attention to her

Honestly, I’m kinda curious too
I don’t recall Lucy breaking any promises
Largely due to her not making any promises

Yeah I’m coming up blank with any specifics as well, tho that may come with the next page. Only thing that comes to mind is that it might be a bit of general resentment over Lucy pretending everything was fine to the entire friend group and making promises she knew she wouldn’t keep leading up to her attempt.

like the thing I kinda thought of is that when Lucy was explaining to Daisy why she puts up with Augustus and mentions that she’s never going to forgive him for what he did to Daisy, but then now she’s seen helping him actually establish a friend group… but idk that requires several wild assumptions to work

When it came to any of Lucy’s broken promises I was hoping someone would come out with the deets. Seems like Daisy pulled that out of nowhere. Or maybe there’s something she knows that we do not.

I swear they pulled half this dialogue from the community, it’s so funny to see this kind of conversation in the official comic. XD

Of course Daisy. Make it about yourself
And I’m referring to the part where she’s taking Mike’s side no matter what he’s literally done. She was also on board with Lucy forgetting everything Mike had said in favor of harmony.
Daisys never been her friend she was just there Mike. And even though she has Paulo she can’t let that go

This is how I feel about Daisy and Lucy’s relationship as well.
Lucy has done so much to show that she cares for Daisy but Daisy seemingly can not truly do the same for Lucy. :(

Yeah, she has always been closer with Mike. Meaning she’s picked up on the moments where Mike was at his most broken due to the decisions he made, with a front row seat to his rational behind them. Mike’s “It’s been weeks.” comment to her at the end of “It’s All in the Mind” really jumps out at me, personally. Doesn’t mean she agrees with his actions, just that she knows that they don’t always come from malice, and still often result in hurting others and, more often than not, himself. Road to hell and all that.
But yes, she’s biased. Paulo’s definitely a bit more central in everything, and has a deeper understanding of where Lucy’s coming from by comparison.

THANK YOU!!
Mike literally admits to driving her to suicide and Daisys response is: “but she was awful to him”
Lucy keeps Augustus away from her: “well maybe i wouldn’t mind some bad attention. You always get the guys!!”
I think the only time where Lucy was outwardly rude and intentionally mean was when she told her that she was glad Abby wisened up to her obsession with Mike. AND IT WASNT EVEN THAT MEAN 😭😭🫣

Also, I wonder if that brief hesitation after Paulo mentioned grabbing Mike’s phone was partially brought about by a reminder of the last time he did exactly that in the past during lunch. Remembering the moments in life where people hurt you certainly helps when you’re trying to cut them out of your life. (Which is not always a bad thing, mind, though the resentment in and of itself is rarely healthy to hold onto long term)

Funny that they’re basically one step away from saying, “Why are we picking sides? Their drama doesn’t have to be our problem.”

It truly sucks that Daisy rarely ever empathizes with Lucy. Even though Lucy has consistently shown such high levels of care toward her (even before she left but especially since she’s come back).
It seems like it takes an immense reaction from Mike (and for Lucy to essentially just not react) for Daisy to consider Lucy’s feelings at all, like how things played out at Halloween. Otherwise, she sees Lucy as an antagonist/instigator/perpetrator.
Paulo, her closest friend, sexually harassed Lucy throughout all of their childhood, but because Lucy isn’t a perfect victim, he seemingly gets little to no judgement from Daisy for it (unless Mike spoke out about it). The only judgement seems to be the fact that *she* wasn’t the subject of that harassment… Lucy had to explicitly yell that she never wanted that kind of attention from anyone and express how it made her incredibly uncomfortable for Daisy to pause her judgement and think further on it at all, yet she still judges Lucy for it.
It’s no wonder Lucy feels like Daisy isn’t really her friend. It’s like Daisy’s just around cuz of the proximity to the boys. What Lucy sees in her nightmares, Daisy has yet to prove otherwise.
Daisy and her centering of/need for validation from boys is truly her biggest downfall… particularly when it comes to her relationship with Lucy.

YES! Finally, someone is ready to just color everything in shades of gray! No one is fully right, and no one is fully wrong, so we should all just be kinder to each other in general

Oof, you can tell Daisy has yet to give Paulo an earful about what happened at lunch. She is right though Paulo, not everyone keeps their promises. And right now, if you want to help Mike, you need to break that promise with Lucy.

This is why I have never been a huge fan of Daisy, and I WANT to like her. But she has always had this undertone of resentment towards Lucy that I can’t vibe with. I can’t recall a point where Lucy has ever been particularly unfair to Daisy and generally tries to do right by her. But Daisy can’t let go of her jealousy over the fact that Lucy receives more attention from the male characters than she does, and like. Instead of directing her frustration towards the boys, she takes it out on Lucy instead.

No good friend always takes their friend’s side when one of their friends is doing something that’s straight up wrong (which is a lesson Paulo’ll hopefully learn!)

Daisy has never really been Lucy’s friend if we’re keeping it a buck, so her reaction here doesn’t even surprise me.

I think we need to wait a moment.
We do not know full win where this tangent will go. Me may even be surprised.
Yes, I know Daisy is kinda … Flip floppy when it comes to the relationship she has had with Mike and Lucy.
But, there has been some growth in her too. Along with Paulo.
I am curious about how this will run now since they are now a little more at peace and are together.

Not saying that Daisy needs to grovel at her feet, but considering Lucy WAS the person who finally got her together with Paulo (even if said attempt was rather clumsily handled), you think her opinion on Lucy would have improved marginally. I guess Mike will always have one supporter in his corner but I wouldn’t exactly say it’s for the healthiest of reasons.

There’s a part of me that was hoping Lucy helping Paulo and Daisy get together would lead to some kind of gradual paradigm shift in how Daisy treated Lucy, but I will keep waiting patiently 🙂↕️

Okay, biases aside, Daisy is technically correct. If Paulo wants to get to the core issue of this Mike and Lucy conflict, he’s going to have to drop the whole “pick a side” drama that’s been driving a wedge between the friend group and be as objective as possible when reviewing the situation.
Because at the end of the day, both Mike and Lucy have been terrible to one another, and both are currently too wrapped up in their own issues to come to an understanding of what’s happened and how to move forward. I’m not even saying they have to be friends again, but just giving each other release from the guilt, regret, and resentment that’s been poisoning both of their mental health.
I hope Paulo or someone comes to this conclusion in time before history repeats itself again.

honestly loving them discussing this how there conflicted cause both are friends they care about, neither one is innocent and I agree with daisy considering she rejected that promise before it really isn’t valid and who to say what happens off the comic page Lucy honestly doesn’t see to type to make promises cause we never seen hear make them to begin with

Like others, I really hoped that Lucy being there for Daisy to lend an ear and try to encourage her with Paulo which led to her new boyfriend would help that relationship but man no dice huh. I guess I can’t say I’m shocked though that Daisy doesn’t sympathize over Lucy’s pain at being used as a rebound while Mike and Sandy were on the rocks. Since when Mike did that to Daisy she basically had no complaints to my shock. Maybe she just sees Lucy’s pain as ungrateful dramatics because being Mike’s plan B makeout is such an Honor actually!!!

I’m not all that surprised about no change with Lucy on Daisy’s side. Lucy really wasn’t all that effective in making it happen. If Paulo hadn’t been listening, it would have been a wrap because Daisy thought Lucy was talking out of her ass the whole time.
Nothing Lucy said was giving her courage to go for Paulo. She was all “you just don’t understand!” And frankly, when it comes to relationships, I don’t think Daisy and Lucy will ever be on the same page.
Matter of fact, Daisy was practically angry at Lucy’s attempt to help her cross that bridge with Paulo before she escaped to sulk.
Then there was Lucy all but calling them both dumb for being so worried about Abbey’s feelings at the time. I don’t imagine that’s a good impression, either.

Wait… Why are there so many comments talking about Daisy’s relationship with Lucy? Which has nothing to do with the unbiased statement she just made. Because Daisy really didn’t say anything wrong here.
She may be calling Mike, Mikie still. Yet that doesn’t mean she’s showing favoritism in this situation. And from what she said, her opinion actually makes sense and doesn’t take sides.
Unlike a lot of their friends, Daisy is actually acknowledging that both Lucy and Mike were horrible to each other. And that they should both be accountable, rather than people having to choose sides based solely on half the story. Which is a pretty mature and realistic take. Compared to how we’ve seen some of these kids make snap judgments without considering both sides. Because let’s be honest, neither Lucy nor Mike was perfect, and they still aren’t. That doesn’t make them bad kids, it’s just the truth.
Also, Daisy had already peeped the situation at Lunch between Lucy and Paulo and immediately clocked that something wasn’t right there. Which is why she’s letting Paulo know he doesn’t have to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders in an attempt to try and keep every single promise he ever makes. When not even Lucy is capable of keeping every promise she’s ever made. Which is fair, because how can you hold someone to a standard, you can’t even hold yourself to? Which is also a helpful take, if such a promise requires him to abandon a friend in obvious need of help.
