Karma for what?

Have you not seen Augustus in the last several chapters? You think karma wouldn’t come his way after all the shit he has done despite his whole wanting to be a better person shtick? Lucy learning he still hasn’t fully cut Alejandro from his life is a step in that direction of the pendulum swinging his way. The whole reason he is even living with Lucy and her family was so he could start fresh and have a new lease on life. Him wanting to test fate in this hope of sticking it to Alejandro is what will cause him to fall. And this last page may just be a hint towards that fall.

Well, it was already stated that he doesn’t answer the phone! Alej just doesn’t leave him alone, so it’s not a betrayal of Lucy’s trust or anything. I guess you could argue Augustus could throw out his SIM card or get a new number, but then it wouldn’t be too interesting of a story (imo)! And I guess I don’t agree that being a little mean to Mike once is deserving of having his whole future compromised ^^; But I’m guessing you just don’t like Augustus much, and I’m all for praying on the downfall of characters you hate so you do you man!

Mean to Mike once? He’s made Mike his number 1 target and has been pushing Mike close to the edge for a good while now. Now, does Mike need a good kick in the ass? Yes. But that doesn’t mean trying to mentally harm the guy. Two wrongs never make a right. But it simply isn’t just because of or even about Mike. He attempted to get Daisy to distance herself from the group by makinf her think that everyone didn’t completely like her and even tried to make her be someome she isn’t. The only reason he stopped interacting with Daisy was because Lucy forced him to. He is the reason people walk on eggshells around Abby and was partly the reason Abby and Daisy broke up was by pushing him to the point he snapped, which was a mental defense from the abuse caused by his father, and Augustus even claimed the apple doesn’t fall for from the tree, making it seem that Abby was no different from his father. Augustus is like Icarus, flying too close to the sun. And eventually there is consequences for doing so.

But, nevertheless, it is always nice to have some friendly banter and discussions when it comes to moments like this. It is one of the many things I love about this community and series.

“Friendly banter”? My man, you’ve been holding an insane grunge against Auggy for the past few pages, and each page you wished him ill manner.

It’s not like he mentally or/and physically abused Mike for years (like Alejandro did to Auggy, may I remind that). Augustus was trying to defend his first and best friend, a friend that basically saved his future. Yeah, his way of doing that wasn’t great, but Mike is not a child, he’s at the age where life situations start to give you challenges to learn to deal with.

Many adults suck with healthy communication, and you blame Auggy, a teen, so harshly that he did it poorly? (Sorry, butchered grammar)

Lucy, Mike, Auggy, Paulo, Daisy, all had fuck ups communication wise and yeah, people got hurt and one even tried to end herself…, but they try to learn. For your own good, try to lay off some of the Auggy hate. ;>_>

And regarding this page, we don’t know yet why Auggy doesn’t change his sim, and Lucy knows about the calls from Alejandro, she was in the room with Auggy a few times when that phone was buzzing. It’s not new to her.

Are we like… forgetting everything we know about these characters?

And what does the age have to do with anything?

The 16 years old kid caused his friend to attempt suicide, and?

Augustus already fucked up in the past regarding daisy. He took responsibility, trying to do better, apologised to Daisy, and never came close to her again until she was the one who was ok being around him.

Mike fucked up, and for a year (and some?) won’t take responsibility and tried to avoid the topic until it cornered him down. All while having violent outbursts each time he was questioned: yelling at Daisy, insulting Sue, bashing Paulo’s head into a table, slamming Augustus into the ground, causing Lucy to relapse for a while.

My man, what are we even talking about?

Either way , the readers are split with their opinions, and that’s fine, I just think it’s uncalled for to keep stating such ill intent to one of the characters on almost each of the last pages, it’s starting get a bit toxic. >_>

I would have understood if it was like that regarding Alejandro, but geez..

We get it, that reader hates Auggy’s guts.

Yes, I hate Augustus, but it is with the fact I had someone like him in my own personal life. Someone who admitted he fucked up and wanted to do better, but still went out of his way to hurt people afterwards. Even going so far as to having his own justification for wanting to take my life as he had his arms arounds around my neck all while we were in a crowded area. I can’t like a character who reminds me of that.

I was also wondering that the last time we saw them hearing the phone buzzing. I think it could be that with a mix of her PTSD from Alejandro. :(
