I do feel bad for Paulo, but it’s odd that he didn’t know. I don’t mean that Jazz would need to check with him all the time, but the fact that it was Lucy’s B-Day and there was a girls sleepover for it shouldn’t have escaped him. It doesn’t seem unlikely that his girlfriend would be invited- even if out of courtesy.

Like I said though, I feel bad for him. The poor boy is… well… sort of poor isn’t he? That was probably a lot of money for him. Lord knows I’ve never been well off, two tickets to a movie probably would have been at least a 3 week entertainment budget for me (Including snacks). Looks like a mis-communication fight. If either one had told the other about their plans (Jazz going to the party OR Paulo getting the tickets) it probably could have been avoided. The fouls cancel each other out, play will resume on the 40 yard line.

Now we’re getting to the depressing part of the incentive. Mike’s really starting to show his emotions now.

And also, I know that the last panel is mostly to showcase Mike’s feelings about the situation, but Lucy actually looks really cute in that panel. In all the other one’s she looked really creepy, but in that one she looks awesome.

@incentive: ….Whoa. This is just… Whoa.
The first instance of Mike being believably compassionate. In what feels like… forever. It… It’s really touching to read. *sniffle*
But… it’s also horribly sad once you think about it. This might very well be the ONE thing that has been made better by the mega-angst world those two are in. The ONE thing that has balanced out all of the negative that we’ve seen so far in the incentive.
And it isn’t canon.
And what’s worse, a conversation like this between those two might never be CLOSE to becoming canon. At the rate the comic is going, I just can’t see Mike and Lucy getting back together as anything more than just friends, even if Sandy falls out of the picture. And even if they do somehow become friends again, I just can’t see them returning to how close they used to be. The feeling of betrayal and rejection is a terrible thing. Taeshi’s REALLY gonna have to pull some character reconstruction for a get together to plausibly happen again.

I have to say, the incentive comic is like…woah.
But for the current ^ comic, how does Taeshi make Paulo look not happy, even though his mouth is smiling? Is it the background? Is it the eyes? hmm.
