Veronica: I remember being teased for the hug Paulo and Jasmine have in panel 5, some people thought it was an unrealistic hug.

.. and while yeah, while I wasn’t looking at references for a hug and had zero clue how a hug actually looked like, I feel this awkward hug still fits!! Because Paulo and Jasmine are a pretty conservative couple? They’re more like cuddly friends than a couple, honestly. I think Paulo is actually a bit intimidated by her.

So it’s something I coulda redrawn with the Omnibus editing, but I felt like their hug was making a statement of their relationship and their dynamic, and I didn’t want to change that.

Maverik: Despite my bullshittery with drawing hugs in general, I kind of wanted to make it a point that Paulo and Jasmine actually hug quite awkwardly because they aren’t touchy-feely in their relationship. There is no physical intimacy, so Paulo gets all weird and stuff trying to bend and hug someone so little, who has a kind of aversion of getting too close.

And to people harassing D.R about what he said before, dude. It’s old news. Quit it. I said my words, and to be honest it’s my “battle”. Not yours. I can defend myself, I don’t need people getting up and arms about it!
