Good lord…People are wasting absolutely no time in bashing Daisy for wanting to be noticed.
In case you guys have forgotten Daisy used to have to get in the face of everyone else if she so much as wanted to talk to them. (Not including Mike, hence her crush on him.) Abbey liked her but could never really bring himself to talk to her until AFTER Augustus showed up and was giving her all of HIS attention. That kind of shift for her was a big deal, going from no one really noticing her to being the center of someones attention. Daisy had been wanting something like that to happen for a REALLY long time.
However, Augustus pressured her and she backed away because she was scared. She then started dating Abbey and helping him with his issues, which gave her a sense someone needing her, and fell in love with him.
Like any feeling though, it doesn’t just go away. Daisy genuinely cared for Augustus and, understandably, still has some residual feelings for him.

So I say now to all you Daisy “Haterz” : How dare you!? She’s a sweet girl and does not deserve your misplaced scorn!

As for the lucy rape scheme, I’m sure that’ll be explored quite thoroughly. Augustus was clearly conflicted when he reported to the leader, which he caught onto. Augustus will fall into the same emotional confusion as everyone else when they teach him THE POWER OF LOVE.

@Hoheh: I must say that I do agree with your comment, especially the part about a worthwhile story isn’t made up of perfect characters, you can see people who hate characters while only knowing a little (Augustus and Sandy) as well as people hating characters who made a perfectly normal decision (lotsa hate for mike ever since he turned down Lucy, despite the fact that the real jerk move would be to cheat on his girlfriend).

@sirawesoman Wow, I don’t even know where to start. Firstly, anytime someone says “the power of love” they’re either a voice actor for Disney, or they’re being at least a little sarcastic. Regardless, I stand by my statement for several reasons.
While none of these relationships is even remotely stable, the group as a whole is coming closer together and forming stronger bonds through familiarity. It’s reminiscent of Azumanga Daioh, where at the very end Chiyo is suddenly very afraid that the group will drift apart, but she knows that their friendships are so strong that’s not likely to happen even after school ends. To throw in another reference, the group is like a katamari, gathering up people in a makeshift gang. I would not be surprised if Jess and Rachel made more appearances, because they’re now part of the “in-crowd.” Unlike McCain.
I really think Augustus is going to become a significant player in the comic very soon, and his character type is commonly associated with the “heel-face turn”, or bad guy turning good. It will happen with a lot of drama and shocking twists, of course. It’s the kind of dramatic payoff that a good writer dreams about, and it’s why a lot of long-running webcomics shed their “silly” roots and become more complex and epic.

I think it would be sweet if they all woke up and then decided to form an alliance against Augustus, Alejandro and whoever else is part of their gang.

It’d be cool if later (and I mean LATER) in the story, Augustus joins the group. I’d like to see how he interacts with the crazy main cast
