This upcoming dialogue will be interesting. Augustus has to be careful with his diction and turn off the typical snarkiness he uses around Lucy, if she indeed is contemplating taking a dive. In their last conversation he straight out called her pathetic. I don’t think that’ll fly this time around (Lucy sure doesn’t). Reaffirming her feelings of worthlessness isn’t going to make her want to take the stairwell back down to the ground floor of the building.
Since Augustus has pretty much witnessed the entire downward spiral of Lucy, and she has kept him in the loop of her misery, I’m sure she will be confiding in him. Who better to know what she is going through then him, right? Misery loves company. His words can really have a strong impact on her. I feel like his last conversation with Lucy at the library hasn’t really sunk in with her. Or at that point in time she still wanted to believe things could go back to the way they were. Now that she realizes that the door behind her is closed, maybe Augustus can walk Lucy through that new door that is open for her…or maybe assertively push her through it. My god woman get over it.

Assuming that’s Lucy up there, I really want her to jump. Not because I dislike her, but because I’d like to see where the story would go from there.
Oh well. She’d probably land on her feet, anyway. *Shrug*
