Author commentary

Veronica: this is actually the main reason I really wanted to be updating five days a week once we got to this chapter - because I always found those plotlines where a person magically gets a celebrity job - whether it’s TV/movies/singing/etc - corny and unrealistic. It’s the stuff that happened in Degrassi a lot (half of the graduates in that show were either in a band or in a movie or modelling and it was really silly) so this was more of a parody of that.

But having the first page up for a few days could make people think I was actually being serious and like “WOW THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN/DID BCB JUMP THE SHARK” and yeah that doesn’t happen WHAT IS THIS DEGRASSI

hello i’m explaining the joke because i don’t want people to think i would have actually done such a dumb thing WHAT DO YOU TAKE ME FOR

Only odd thing I saw here was Lucy’s “I know” comment. What was her reason?…
And then it turns out the guy went after her and then kidnapped her. DUN DUN DUN.

I have a feeling that Lucy’s disappearance has something to do with what her family and her had a talk about. ( you know… that talk that caused Lucy to stand on top of a building on that snowy day on new years eve… here the chapter and page number if ya need to jog your memory : 73.Ten seconds to Midnight, page 4 )

DDG, I think you’re right, except we operate under strange conditions where many people look at the current page and judge it out of context. I think the joke is clear if you read it all together.. And that’s basically how BCB is written to read best as.
