Heh, McCain. He dun got’s rabies. The funny thing is to pretend the foam is his hair. Also, look at what Sue is doing to Mike. Looks like some kind of super-nurple. Sue’s going to kill someone before the night’s over. Secondly, if Sue is clearly screaming at the top of her lungs, can’t the audience hear her? Also, how long after Ten Seconds to Midnight is this? Because, unless this happens before school starts, which is very unlikely, shouldn’t Lucy have already been at school for at least one day? If this is so, Sue would have likely had play practice and Lucy would have obviously come, or Sue’s rage towards who we guess is Lucy would be a little different.
Either way, there’s no way the play can go well. We’ve been here too long not to know that. And when something does go terribly wrong, which will inevitably involve Mike, Lucy and something being revealed to the entire audience, Sue’s gonna put a bullet into the base of someone’s spine for ruining the play.
Still kind of amazed no one’s realized Mike has something to do with Lucy’s disappearance. It’s quite obvious, really. Either way though, someone’ll find out eventually and there will be hell to pay.

If something goes wrong in this play, and it’s Mike’s fault, and he tries to leave the table once school DOES return… well, Sue’s wrath isn’t something I’d want to face. The Soviet Operation Bagration, launched in 1944, destroyed Army Group Centre and carried the Red Army into East Prussia. If Mike and McCain here, with the play still running (fairly) smoothly, are any indication, then if something actually goes badly wrong, she could cause lasting pain on the responsible party(s). Look at how terrified she has Mike already. With Lucy as a co-star, and with Taeshi’s style of writing… well, he has good cause to fear.

@Nikita:Absolutely nothing whatsoever is the amount of relevancy Bagration has with my comment. See, though, I love history, specifically the World Wars. The knowledge is dripping out my ears; I like to put random notables of it into all my comments, across all my everything. Consider it a quirk of my writing.
More importantly, Mike may survive Sue’s fury even if he screws up the play… but only so long as he doesn’t try to leave the table. If he arses up the play, then tries to leave Lucy in the lurch… well, Sue won’t be the only one after his head.

Oh dear, Sue is really high strung right now. I understand why, this is the play that Sue has worked very hard on. Everyone has been rehearsing for a long time and the play is about to happen, you just want everything to go right. But, I just know something is going to happen either to Lucy or Mike.

Am I the only one who realized that McCain is foaming?

Oh dear… Poor Mike, she really is quite stressed out about this.
I have a bad feeling this is going to end… well, badly. Either Lucy won’t show up at all or come to the play and get yelled at by Mike. Either way, Mike will feel bad afterwards. Or maybe he’ll just go back to kissing phones and thinking Lucy is a desperate… um… youngeraudience, which would be all the more likely if she comes with Agustus.
And then there’s the small chance that Taeshi’s NOT making us worry and everything’s gonna go smoothly. *HIGHLY DOUBT HIGHLY DOUBT*

I think Lucy will show up. If she doesn’t it’s cause something bad happened to her… or her family.
When she walks in late maybe with her head down and ears a little droopy… or walking in with no emotion. Maybe Sue and others will finally put 2 and 2 together.

Why do I get the feeling that this is what will happen?

-Lucy shows up, they start the play, Mike and Lucy cast as siblings
-The two follow lines and such for a while, but real emotions will start to break through OR Lucy will be completely apathetic and this is noticeable to everyone
-Tension builds between them on stage, eventually cracking into a slight argument that, while addressing their real-life problems, seems very much in context for the play (and thus, looks like really good acting )
-The two won’t be on ‘avoiding each other’ terms anymore, but Lucy won’t be completely recovered just yet
-After the play, Paulo walks up and stumbles through a confession of his feelings, eventually just saying “Screw it all” and blurting it straight out
-CLIFFHANGER

Now that I think about I think if Lucy doesn’t show up. It will show she is living up to her promise she made to Mike and Sandy.
I am finding myself more waiting for Mike to start feeling guilty and try to set things right with Lucy. Then I am waiting for the gang to find out and basically banish Mike… forever preventing Mike from making things right and it actually meaning something to Lucy other than “Oh he just wants his friends to stop hating him”
I am starting to accept PauloxLucy more and more, but I am still not 100% comfortable with it in the long run.
I hope this comic continues on long enough that we get to see Mike and Lucy’s relationship rebuild, maybe even possibly rekindle they love they had for each other!
