Thank goodness he’s calling her out for this. Like I said two pages ago - he was being sexually assaulted and it wasn’t okay for her to pull that.

Even if Augustus was into Lucy, it’d have still been the case (like with Daisy liking the attention from him but not wanting to be intimate like he was pushing for). I would say this also applies to Another Shoulder (when Lucy did the same to Paulo, who was considerate that she wasn’t in her right mind to properly consent) and in Trapped (when Melanie did it to Augustus, who was a vulnerable kid at the time). I feel this call-out reframes those chapters somewhat to make it more clear that that was the case.

This is why I like him. He knows what’s right and what wrong and he knows not to let someone do that to him as well. It already happened once and he won’t let it happen again.

I really do hope this is a flashback because if it is then we all know things between Auggie and Lucy will end up being okay. But if this ISN’T a flashback and is a flashFORWARD then ooooof, this is pretty rough and I worry that the “Burned Bridges” title applies to these two as well. It makes complete sense that this is a flashback on many accounts, but if this is a flashforward then it’d still have some sense. Lucy was officially rejected by Mike (again) that morning and clearly very hurt by it so it’d make sense if she was looking for a rebound after school. If this is the case then I kind of stress out how their relationship will be like going forward because Auggie is having NONE of that shit and put a “reverse” card on Lucy for calling her out on something he did a while ago and she keeps bringing up. However, these two are pretty mature so I am sure they’ll end up pretty okay anyway. ^_^

ooooofff. I know Lucy really needs to hear this, especially from Augustus, but those colors in the last panel… I hope she doesn’t take this too hard. We know she can be unstable at times.

There’s a time and a place and Auggie could have stopped after he’d threatened her, telling her to go cool off instead of going off like this. I just hope Lucy doesn’t make this worse.

Also, poor Augustus just can’t catch a break. Assaulted/taken advantage of by his first partner Melanie. Gets himself clocked (rightfully) for trying to pull the same tricks on a girl he likes. Finally gets himself an actual friend that doesn’t want to keep him as a slave and she pulls this on him. Guy must be super conflicted about women on the inside, jeez.

A thought but it kinda seems in the last panel that Lucy is hurt from how her action has affected Augustus. No one she has initiated a kiss with has been this angry about it further driving home for me that she looks so sad to have hurt the person closest to her.

Also want to mention that the last few panels with Lucy’s eyes appear a little less dead. Or maybe I am just seeing what I want to lol
