Hi Lucy
Note the lack of breasts, also the bottom two.

Well this is interesting…. His attitude appears to be changing towards her the more he thinks about it, seeing as Lucy is appearing less and less mean and is blushing towards the end. Maybe Mike’s finally going to realize that Lucy liked him all along, or at least did, back when these memories occurred.
On a slightly unrelated note, all of these Lucys appear to be a few years younger, as they lack her female sideburns.
Either way, Mike’s certainly getting his money’s worth from his little outburst. And the best part is, he knows it’s his fault, or he wouldn’t be trying so hard to convince himself otherwise. He knows that what he did was uncalled for, and that maybe he’s been looking at Lucy the wrong way this whole time. Eventually though, his friends are going to ask questions about what happened, it’s not like people just try to kill themselves for no reason, and when they do, Mike’s going to slip up and say something to the effect of it being all her fault anyways. And then everyone will know.

Woah there. Well at least we are seeing Lucy for the first time in a while..
Also, Mike you need to take at least a little blame here, it wasn’t just one of ye’ faults ;) but it at least seems like he has remorse for his actions. Lucy was incredibly guilty for her actions before so.
And yeah, these memories seem like they are pretty old ones o.0

The blue at the top signifies memories that bring him sadness and pain. After years of being told you’re scum, it really wears on your self-esteem and it hurts. At the bottom, it starts getting a gentler purple color; perhaps he regards those with a certain level of affection?

Comment ID #249747

The thing is, back when I started reading the comic, Lucy really bothered me. Her whole Tsundere attitude really irked me, as it was so frustrating to see her push away the one person she truly cared for. On the other hand, Mike’s way of coping with her was also just as bad. I kept thinking “Why does he put up with that?” and back when they were in middle school, when he still had a crush on Lucy, he pretty much explained to everyone “That’s just how Lucy is.” He was willing to deal with her mood swings because he cared about her so much. That deep down, she truly was a good person and she just never learned how to channel her frustration properly (as Lucy never really considered anyone else except Mike a friend until Middle School). I really felt that he could make her change.

It all goes back to honesty. It’s pretty clear that before he started dating Sandy, all of Lucy’s snark remarks where considered “normal”. It was Sandy who later convinced him that Lucy should treat Mike with more respect. This revelation did not come about on it’s own. Meanwhile, there wasn’t anyone there to tell this to Lucy. So when he stormed off and started acting strange of course in her head Lucy is just thinking “I’m acting like I’ve always have. What happened?”. I always wanted Mike to sit her down and explain that was she was doing was simply “not Cool”. I thought I’d finally get my wish in December, but no. By then he had bottled everything up and simply exploded.

That explosion was just not necessary, as by that time Lucy was slowly starting to have her own revelation and was changing her attitude and the way she treated others. She was softer and kinder. She really wanted to make things work out and you could tell that she was starting to understand that poking fun was NOT the way to treat your friends. She understood that Mike had moved on but that at least she could salvage their friendship and how that perhaps others cared about her too. But Mike ripped that away from her. He was the one person she really truly trusted. The one person that even if others didn’t want her around, he’d always still linger.
But NO. He made her feel so worthless. He pretty much convinced her that all she was is a piece of meat. That people only stuck around because of her “looks”. That she wasn’t fun to be around with, she just made the group look good and now since Sandy might be coming over it’s time to make room. He basically convinced her that everyone else was nice to her simply because HE said so. That HE was so awesome that if he moved, everyone will follow. That’s what you hear from your best friend and supporter? That he only cared because you didn’t make him look bad? Wow. Then later just walks out the door in the middle of the conversation as if nothing happened “Yeah, just leave the piece of worthless trash on the ground, I’m too good for that. Sandy said so.”
Next, I’m doing some assuming, but it seems that in 12 Seconds to Midnight, and earlier how her room was empty in this Chapter, Lucy was being sent away to move, probably with her father. So great. She lost her friends, her family was all “we don’t want you here” and she might have not been allowed to bring her pets with her (the one thing that always held her together.) I can see why she thought everyone was better off without her.
I’m not going to say that this is in no way Lucy’s fault. She should’ve been more honest with herself back in 7th grade. If that was the case perhaps everything would be different. I think that, more than anything, she was afraid to be in a relationship and believed she might lose the “friendship” part that she had with Mike (I mean awkward 12 year olds, you know?).
Anyways, great comic! :)

But, we can only wait till tomorrow yo see, I guess.

WeIl is safe to assume that he is going backwards through his memories and so we see that and we obviously know that she wasn’t really a bad person but a insucure girl having trouble in trusting others and deciding who to love. Mike hardly sees the inner value in people, that is what is wrong with him, he only sees the external value like their actions, behavior, and anything else. He should see more than that, he should see what they intend and what they are willing to do to fufill that intention. Lucy intends to be in better relations with Mike and was willing to back off on her behavior, but Mike only intended to be rid of her and was willing to speak his mind about it and take her out of his life. When it comes to this, it is difficult to find a mutual benefit for the both of them.

Keyblade Dragon June 17, 2013, 1:15 PM EST.

Comment ID #249758

I agree with a lot of what you said, but I tend to feel that trying to assign blame to either of them is somewhat pointless. I mean, you are absolutely right, Lucy had none of this explained to her, and Mike was the one who changed, and you are also right that both have blame… but I prefer to just let the comic come as it is. Everything about how Mike and Lucy acted are part of them, part of their characters, and this is essential to their development.

Like I said, though, you are right about a lot of things. Here is a conjecture of my own, to add onto what you were saying. This (as I have said about the previous page) is Mike’s version of Starting Over (pages 22 and up). He’s going to feel worse about what he’s done, and he might talk to Sandy. Sandy has acted kind of as his counselor occasionally, and I would not be at all surprised if he talked to her about this, and if she pushed him to see Lucy.

Oh no! I wasn’t trying to assign blame! I’m sorry if I didn’t word all of that correctly. I guess it’s just my feelings and how they’ve grown from the time I’ve started reading the comic. At first I was always “Ugh, Lucy is so annoying! This is just back ‘n forth Tsundere banter between the two! Mike should really not be so Beta and say something or… just make out already you two!” But as the comic evolved I’ve really seen the “reasons” as you will and how they’ve both grown and changed (for better or for worse). If anything I’m agreeing with you. Haha. It really is a part of them, as you said, and you really have to look at the overall picture.

@Anya : you put words on my feelings. Thanks.
@Kay-Felis : I may be wrong but I thinks that part was more about how Lucy could have felt being forced to move, not the real facts.

On the other side, we still haven’t got real proofs, or word of god to say Lucy DID try to commit suicide. Just really heavy hints.

I’m not a fan of constantly blaming it all on Mike. Didn’t you guys always look around in past chapters?

Just about every single character always took Lucy’s side whenever she was a jerk to Mike. If you ask me, I think it’s Mike who feels the loneliest when nobody takes his side at all.

All the constant abuse Lucy dished out to Mike was played for laughs, and yes, it’s Mike’s fault for putting up with it. But the fact that he formerly thought “that’s the way she is”, it maybe made the rest of the group think the same. So when he finally had enough, everyone STILL took Lucy’s side.

Even when Lucy confessed to him and he turned her down, Everyone all got on Mike’s case, trying to pressure him into accepting Lucy’s feelings despite that he already has a girlfriend.

Heck, even the play was some shallow ploy to get Mike and Lucy back together, so Everyone’s against Mike, and even now, they’re blaming everything on Mike. EVERYTHING. Yes, he said some hurtful things, but it didn’t just come out of nowhere and you know it.

Paulo always took Lucy’s side. Daisy wanted Mike to make up with Lucy no matter what. And whenever he was called out for “Cheating” on Lucy, he’d get jumped in past chapters.

Of COURSE Mike would hold a grudge, and think Lucy’s the source of every single problem he’s had (except the events of Confrontation of course).

And when he finally decides he’s had it with Lucy’s BS, he lets it all out on her at the worst time and worst way possible.

No one ever really considered Mike’s feelings except Sandy. Sandy was the only one who got Mike to realize that he’s pretty much being abused. He was so used to being the butt monkey, it took an act of genuine kindness (yes, I mean pure, absolute kindness with no snarky remarks or strings attached or tsundere crap behind it) to snap him out of it and stand up for himself. But it all happened too late, and it only allowed him to think of the bad times again and again.

So don’t hate on Sandy for being the one to open Mike’s eyes.
Don’t hate on Mike for finally putting his foot down.

Really, everything just happened on bad timing, and I feel this wouldn’t have happened if Mike actually had someone to take his side during those times when Lucy was being a jerk, or whenever everyone decided to get on the Lucy bandwagon, and tell her that what all the punching and kicking is wrong.

(It’s shocking Abbey didn’t say anything since he doesn’t condone bullying in any way, shape, or form. But I may be wrong there. >_> )

Comment ID #249767

Ok let me guess.
We’re going to get like 2 or 3 pages of Lucy becoming sweeter and nicer under Mike’s eyes, with the page color changing to pink or something.
Then Mike’s going to stop and realize he was being stupid, but thinks he’s too far gone to do anything. So he has a small breakdown - if we can even call that a breakdown - and wishes he had done thing in a different way. This will take a page or two.
Then we get the last page. Something full of feelings, with a scenic view of the sky. Maybe Mike will even shed a tear, who knows.
And so it will end the chapter that was supposed to end bcb. Just like Taeshi said, it would leave a lot of questions unanswered, but it would feel like an end.

Dear Taeshi, you are a wonderful person with a great webcomic. However, if you don’t make your plot happen in a quicker pace, it’s going to take a whole other year until we reach January. Seriously, the bcb holiday season took a full year to be completed. I love this comic, but things are happening reeeeeally slow.

So it seems Mike’s memories are traveling from the blue of bitterness to the purple of, bitter sweetness? Overall Mike has seemed to have a consistent problem with understanding people’s motives, as has happened with Daisy, Lucy, Abby, and likely a host of others. Perhaps as a generally honest and genuine guy he just doesn’t get why people do not act how they feel? In any case he is finally looking a little deeper at Lucy’s actions and hopefully will see where she is coming from. I like where this is going.

Why is every one saying they either hate this character or that one?

Personally I love them all, and DON’T want the story to go how I want it, that would be boring and silly.

Don’t hate anyone for what they did or how they acted here, they didi everything that got us from the silly middle shoolers who were worried about tests and such to the drama filled high schoolers who make us feel deeply for the situations they are in now.

Taeshi, darling, you did an EXCELLENT job doing these.characters and giving them such life and personality and making all.of us wjo.read the BCB comic something to look foward to and feel for, I haven’t had something that has made me laugh, cry, scream, or even shudder at until your comic, it is well written and yes full of.drama, but guess what? People love drama and we want to know what happens next and want to know where they go, who the end up being and we don’t care how long it takes as long as we get there and get to see it happen and unfold in front of us.

Now I know some people might complain about the time it takes to do an arch but with out the build up then all the background and character profiling and everyhing that makes a good story good arenthing and this would be just a one dimensional cesspool, but it’s not, now people just shut up and enjoy the ride and the fact that we even get to ride along!!

@Jubbz :

“Don’t hate on Mike for finally putting his foot down.”

I don’t hate him for doing so, I hate him for the words he had when he did, his whole paranoia afterwards as soon as “Lucy” was mustered, I hate him because the only reason he is willing to change his behaviour, is because Sandy told him so. He was putting with bad Lucy until Sandy said she didn’t like that. He then let things go worse and worse, exploded and couldn’t stand her very presence afterwards. He would have acting even worse if Sandy didn’t put a stop to his craziness. And even now that there are heavy hints that Lucy commited suicide, he’d still rather put the blame on her (even if we see it’s becoming hard for him). What does he wait ? Sandy telling him that he can use his brain in front of Lucy again ?

Yet that “terrible person” saved your life, or has everybody forgotten that? She had a mental breakdown when everyone thought you were dead. And she tried to fix things with you even when you treated her like unwanted trash.

Yes, Lucy was mean as a child, and yet deep down she really was a sweet girl. (This shows when she cared for her pets and such). Maybe this situation is just karma getting back at her for her past, but there’s no need to be a total ******* about it. Most likely, she almost took her life out of depression because of your words Mike. Your words. No one elses. This wouldn’t have happened if you had been a little less harsh when you told her down. (which i see no wrong with doing so, except that you completely broke her heart and mind in one blow). So this is your fault. Partially.

And to all the people saying Lucy or Mike should either die or kill themselves, how about you read your comment out loud, hm? Do you even think while you’re typing? Do you know how depression works in a poor, broken mind? How would you feel in that sort of situation, with someone constantly telling you to go die?

Yes, i know these are fictional characters, but this same kind of attitude comes from sociopaths. And that sort of action should not be tolerated by anyone, fictional or not.

Time for step 3 of grief!
First comes denial, second comes anger….
Third comes bargaining!

Time for Mikie to start realizing that they were friends… and great friends. And he’ll start trying to bargain… Hard to see bargaining at this point though. Its a wee bit late. But ya.

Or he’ll get stuck in the stage of anger.

But given the last two panels, the color change, and the blushing Lucy…. na.

Well Mikey boy, you dun went and ****ed something up. I mean honestly, either you block guilt to cope with your actions by thinking that they are not as good as you are or just blind yourself to the effects until the ripples hit you. Either way bucko no person actually deserves to be called worthless or told that their friends are going to leave them, especially because the girl you ignored her for, who barely knows her as a person, says that she is a bad person. Honestly, you knew Sandy for a year or so correct? And you knew Lucy for like ten years or so. Now I’m not saying Lucy wasn’t in the wrong but near the end she tried to be better then December happened and she was depressed for such a long period of time which you ignored, honestly boyo, where I’m from something like this from anyone to any girl in our class would have gotten you beat and left in a ditch. Now with this you finally begin to see the wrong you have done? Generally if someone attempts suicide and you have something to do with it you don’t talk about how they are a terrible person anyways,no a person with any humanity would begin to wonder if he did the right thing. I think I’ll end this with a thought, what kind of hell is going on in Lucy’s head?

Grief, anger, sadness and stuff… Discussing who’s a sinner and who’s a saint… But since there’s not much to talk about without offending someone, let’s just discuss the artistic effects on this page. Like, a lot of child Lucy’s pretty face. And colors, pretty colors. Though I can see the translating groups swear a lot trying to clean the text out of this page. Man, it’s not going to be easy D:

I’m starting to feel for Mike. I’ve had those friends that insult you jokingly but it hits too hard and makes you feel like crap— it’s easy to get sick of those friends and forget that they’re complex people as well.

I’m sure they are doing it for her own good, but in the emotional state Lucy is currently in she might have not perceived it as such. Especially the “Do I get a say in this?” part. Like as if her family is all kind of conspiring against her and she can’t even get a word in edge-wise. Especially the expressions they had on their faces, as if it was “oh whoops, we’re busted!”

See, this is the problem with all tsundere relationship things in fictional stories. As long as it’s handled as a kind of joke, it’s just comical violence.

But in the real world, that is totally an abusive relationship yo. Verbal abuse is abuse all the same, and she’s been hitting him all the time to top it off. Just because it is a woman doing the violence doesn’t mean that isn’t violent abuse. For years. And got jealous of other people. Or putting him into emotional blackmail situations. If she HAS hurt herself now, it’s really not his fault. How can it be.
You aren’t responsible for other’s reactions to rejection.

Sure, he was a stupid little jerk about it, and clearly he has feelings for her, as clearly she has feelings for him. It was still a toxic relation for both of them, with only small glimpses of harmony. In the real world, love doesn’t solve everything and you really shouldn’t continue relations that make you feel bad most of the time.

Howeeeeeever. It’s just a story about cats. And bonking guys on the head is a nice sight gag. I feel it got rather more serious than it was in the beginning and now it’s hard to judge behaviour that was probably included for humour in the beginning, not drama.

From what Im seeing I believe he is in the chamber of anger and is transitioning into the chamber of guilt/despair( which ever you prefer ) I know they’re technically called stages, but I like to think of the cycle of grief as a dungeon with 7 or 5 (depending on which ones you include to be valid ) chambers within it :)

The color transition seems like a good sign to me. Mike was thinking about all the times she was mean or abusive to him, but the when the background turns from blue to purple, he seems to be remembering a time where she was embarrassed by her affection for him. I could be wrong, but I hope that for once I’m right. This may be the last chance for MikexLucy. And the last chance for Mike to redeem himself.

It’s sad when you think about it because this stuff happens in real life. Drama explodes during high school and no one ever matures until graduation.

Right now, this is Mike’s way of self defense, by denying denying denying. Lucy’s self defense was to go numb after Mike said he hated her. But the one thing they can’t ignore s the fact that they have had really good moments together for many years. I honestly think that if they don’t patch up their friendship, or at least leave off on good terms, they will regret it for the rest of their lives.

Btw, if anyone has been responding to my comments, I don’t really look at them. For one thing, I have no way of knowing if anyone has responded to my comments and I also don’t revisit past pages just to look at comments.

Lucy was already screwed up before she met Mike. Nobody liked her, the other kids pushed her away and she developed some kind of trust issue. Somehow she became fond of Mike, even though he just thought she was some kind of stalker at first. But the closer they got, the harder it got for Lucy. With those issues, it’s hard for her to trust anybody or even believe someone would want to be her friend. It even took her quite some time before she realized people liked to hang out with her. People offered their friendship, like Sue did a while back. But for someone who was always unwanted, it’s hard to believe they’re actually wanted for a change.

For a long, long time, Mike was the only secure thing in her life, the only continuous factor. So was her attitude towards him. When he tried to kiss her, she got scared, she didn’t know what to do. Her mind wouldn’t let her believe anyone could like her that much.

Both of them are children, both of them didn’t know all this. Sandy helped Mike realize Lucy’s attitude was wrong, but he didn’t look any further than: “She’s a bitch”. But can we really blame him? He didn’t major in psychologics.
Lucy learned she was being a bitch later on and I can’t really blame her either. It’s the way she has always been, since she was little. It was her way of coping with her insecurity and loneliness. I always wondered why their parents were so blind, why none of them ever saw how ****ed up their friendship was.

Lucy is terrible, and I’m tired of her as a character. She’s just another tsundere who gets away with being a complete bully, physically and emotionally because “that’s just the way she shows her affection.” This isn’t an anime where that kind of thing is remotely acceptable.

But what gets me the most is that when Mike decided he wouldn’t put up with it anymore, suddenly every little problem of Lucy’s is his fault. How bizarre, especially since it is very obvious that Lucy’s problems are caused by Lucy and her inability to act like a normal person.

Lucy started out as a character who had a lot of issues, which I figured she would slowly work through over the course of the comic. She didn’t. Instead, she stayed the same and slowly sucked all my sympathy for her away with her actions and now I honestly don’t care that she’s in a hospital for yet another thing that is being blamed on Mike.

It’s so obvious that her issues are caused by her own staggering shortcomings. She endlessly bullied the only person she liked. And then she was surprised when he got mad? Only a child could treat people so badly and then get mad when they decide they want no more to do with them. Grow up Lucy. You racked up this karmic debt, now stop complaining about having to pay it.

Then again maybe he’ll just be obnoxious and keep avoiding the fact that he is partially responsible for everything that’s going on.
What if Paulo finds out what happened? Where is Sandy going to fit into this? (Because she somehow always does.) And how long will It take for Lucy to be more open with people, and realize her friends actually like her, and that Mike isn’t the only one she can lean on?

It’s funny how everyone is taking Mike’s side after a ‘mike go to hell’ period. He’s starting to rethink his actions. But there are obstacles as well. Lucy was, many times, abusive to him and Mike had the patience and held everything, knowing she was doing this not because she hated him or wanted to ruin his life. Lucy was actually trying to hide her feelings. That’s Lucy. Mike had the right of being treated right, but what he told was completly stupid. There’s not another word for it. He told everyone hated her, she hadn’t friends, everyone preferred him and he was the reason why she had someone by her side. That’s TOTALLY not true. He should remain by her side, only calmly telling her she could treat him better. Also, even if he suffered, he wouldn’t have done it if Sandy didn’t tell him he should be treated better. I’m not blaming her, she just wanted Mike to be happy. She just didn’t know how things really were. Everything was too brutal between them. I think they should both apologize and recognize they did wrong. Lily is only trying to protect Lucy, but, at the same time, it won’t help her a lot. She should encourage Mike instead, but I understand if she’s just worried about how things will turn out to be, looking at how Lucy is now. But nothing is gained by avoiding.

And suddenly Mike is starting to see things the other way. Shame that he already did what he did. Hopefuly this won’t end with another superhero like move, and he won’t fix things in one arc, just because he’s Goddamn Mike. This is biggest issue I see here. Cat-people in this comic sometimes are supposed to act like real people, all realistic and stuff, and suddenly they’re pulling some weird kung fu etc. (I’m reffering to Mike defying gravity, while saving Lucy few arcs ago, and recent Mike fist stopping technique). Anyway, as far we know things are screwed up rather badly. Fixing this with magic or mad skillz would be rather lame.

@Taeshi The water colors work wonderfully here. You should try making more colorful backgrounds like this!

@Catoblepas While I probably won’t change your opinion here on Lucy, I’m gonna reiterate that she never really learned anything different since her childhood. She was a jerk, yes, but nobody wanted to point it out. Mike especially just brushed off her behavior saying “That’s just good ol’ Lucy for ya!” If nobody told you to act different and there was never any consequence for her actions, then yeah, she’s not gonna change.

When Zachary told him what he thought about their relationship, she slowly started to get out of this tsundere thing. She complimented Mike in the chapter she confessed her love. She tried being as non-irritating as possible during December before Mike blew up. She stayed away from Mike after that period so as to not annoy him.

So while she isn’t the best character she’s a bit more complex that you make her out to be.

But hey, you think what you want to think. ‘Tis but a comic we are debating and commenting on. Nothing bad about different opinions on characters.

Lucy was never really girly as a child if I remember correctly. I think that probably influenced why she disliked it when people found her attractive. She just thought people were shallow and jerks (probably cause of guys that just liked to hit on her and call her “babe” and “hot” ) that never stopped to really get to know the real her (they were just nice to her because of her looks, which would irritate anyone probably). When she met Mike and he showed signs of liking her she defensively pushed him away (and called him “jerkface” and other stuff) because she thought he was just going to be like the others, he couldn’t possibly really like her -is what she might have thought- (that was after Sandy moved away and Mike began liking Lucy as a replacement maybe…if Im remembering right). If he didn’t like how she treated him he’d just retreat like the others, she wanted to push him away. But then she started actually liking/trusting him. That’s probably why it hit her so hard when Mike said those things to her in December.. all the things she thought Mike had proven himself to be different from, but he stomped all over her faith in him and her friends.

Anyways, I think Lucy has a good personality (maybe not the hitting but that’s alright since it’s a comic). As kids, everyone learns to grow and handle their emotions… Lucy was still young and untrusting of boys and their hormones. I liked Mike so much before, because he was willing to see past her rough exterior to the good person inside but.. maybe he was just as shallow as the other guys but had more patience to deal with her longer. With Sandy treating him as if he was the most amazing person ever and her comments about how she doesn’t like Lucy, and saying Lucy isn’t a good friend… It’s not surprising that Mike stopped thinking for himself and just began his rage fest on Lucy. He forgot why he liked Lucy in the first place… I hope he remembers why he liked Lucy to begin with.

The point I was trying to make was… Lucy isn’t just mean for kicks and giggles… she wasn’t trusting and it takes time for people to earn/gain trust. She also didn’t want to admit/realize her true feelings for Mike so she did what kids normally do, Be Mean to the Person they actually Like (what else was she supposed to do? Not like she had any prior love experience so she knew how to get her feelings across in a sweeter manor.. she’s a kid! I like how she protected the ones she cared about though.. she put it all on the line just to try to keep her friends and Mike safe… that’s saying something all on its own).

Then just as Mike was going to realize what he did he descended back into anger and was finally unable to sustain his mental stability (which deals with Lucy and a long distance relationship and getting beaten by the anti-cheating squad AND Paulo’s pranks, and all the people angry at him for not liking Lucy, AND pep rally’s, and all the normal stress from school and stuff) and we get to see a remake of the third star wars movie.

Impending “Oh My God, What Have I Done!?” moment… in the next or following pages.

Salut Taishi!

On another note; I see many people here of whom have shown a fair lack of decorum towards you and those who enjoy BCB. For me, there is no ‘Team Mike’ or ‘Team Lucy’. What I see is a story that has blossomed over time. BCB has done what many comics/books and movies have attempted and (mostly) failed to do, and that is incite passion from the audience. Your work has touched many dearly, all in their own ways.

Never mind the trolls, naysayers, or aggressively argumentative types. More often than naught, the simple action of them feeling it necessary to spend their time and energy (no matter how negative) in the comments section means that as a writer, and an artists, you’re “doin’ it right”.

Art is a strange term that has a fairly amorphic purpose, but just about every one can agree that while are can be defined as self expression, it is the sharing of such, when one’s art inspires emotion/expression, that it is in turn fulfilled. The world is full of artists, but your webcomic is one out of so many on the internet that has inspired passion in such a vast amount of people in so many varying ways. I know of only a small handful of comics and literature that can claim as such in my personal opinion.

It is people like you and yours that inspire me , specially since you have weathered so much in your life over the lifetime of BCB, and have yet to give up.

Well done.

Alright. I’ve spent the last 6 hours reading this from start to finish for the first time and I need to admit something. I’m a 21 year old guy and BCB if the first comic of dozens I’ve read that has actually made me want to cry a bit, several times. Keep up the excelent work!

Also, LucyxPaulo forever.

I really think :unsure:x Mad Lucy could be great, maybe Sandy might find somebody else! She’s got to travel to different places anyways, who knows! I think it was really sweet how Lucy had those moments with Mike a while ago in the comic when they were young. I believe Lucy has more than that, just never had anyone to really have a positive relationship with like she did with Mike.

I don’t know. Something about Sandy and Mike seems too perfect. Many long distant relationships I know turned out terrible and eventually ended.

Still on Mike’s side. I don’t think Mike and Lucy should ever by a couple… Or at least not until they are much older and have done some growing up. They’re still very young (15 I think?) and need to live life carefree and just go with the flow for now. There’s no need to rush into deep relationships at their age. Just be friends and enjoy the rest of your young years while you can.

@AngryBunny That’s pretty much against the entirety of BCB. It ironically makes sense though.

@Parf :
I know it’s against everything that is BCB, but right now it seems to be the only logical solution, as ironic as that is. They are definitely too young and immature to have a real relationship with one another, which I’m guessing is the Bitter part of BCB. Perhaps the Sweet part will come in a few years when the two can handle being around each other without being rude, insensitive children to one another.

There are many relationships that end everyday period. LDR can be tough, but normally the people involved know what’s going on ahead of time. The distance pretty much is part of the territory. If you are mature and handle it well (what Mike and Sandy are doing) then I don’t see the problem. It seems to me that Sandy really is the least to stray, she’s only had eyes for Mike since elementary school. I personally was in an LDR for 8 years (since highschool), I got married last year. So there are those who make it!

I had a crazy dream last night and it was about the comic being voice acted and Lucy’s actor was a dude who talked in a really deep voice that’s weird right

@Huh?: Huh? But time in comic goes much more slowly than that in our world, it seems that they are still in grade 10.

If you go to the About page, you will see the cast of the characters with their current ages. 8-D

Oh wow, glad to hear that and congratulations! 8-D
But I don’t know, we never seem to know much about Sandy and what’s going on with her. In my eyes I can just imagine Mike and Lucy better than Mike and Sandy for some reason. Thanks for the response either way. :)
