I know it's likely confirmation bias at this point, but... I really feel like that first panel is far from the first time we've seen Mike having some darker thoughts, and the more I see, the more concerned I get. I swear, if Mike starts giving James his old games at some point down the line, we're gonna be hitting some serious red flags.
